Leanna's POV

I finished curling my hair and then got my dress on. JJ and I were at a hotel getting ready while Melody decorated and set up for the baby shower at the house. I wove the metal flower bobby pins into my hair and then stepped out of the bathroom.

"How do I look?" I gave JJ a little twirl, smiling softly. He smiled as he finished sliding his shoes on. He was wearing a green polo that matched my dress. He had offered to wear a suit, but I felt like it was a little more casual than that.

"Like a goddess." He stood up and kissed my forehead softly. "Are you ready to head over there?" He asked as I put on a coat of lip-gloss.

"Let me just put on my sandals and I'll be ready to go." I pulled the gladiator sandals out of my bag and sat down so that JJ could help me to put them on. "You have made me feel like a princess since I've gotten here. Thank you." I did not want to get too emotional and ruin my makeup. Not yet anyway. I knew that I would be a crying mess when we found out the gender.

"Well, you make it easy. You are my princess." He responded with a crooked smile, helping me up off the bed. We went out to the car that was waiting for us outside and started heading to the house. It was not an extremely far drive. Melody was tying balloons to the mailbox and our friends and some of JJ's family were waiting outside. One of his brothers was out of town so he wasn't able to come but most of them were here.

"This looks amazing, Melody. I cannot wait to see what the backyard looks like." I told her as soon as I got out of the car. She smiled at me and tucked some hair behind her ear.

"I'm glad you like it. Are you ready to kick this off?" She asked, running a hand through her hair. She grabbed a bag and pulled the football out, handing it to JJ. She took a step back and pulled out her camera to take pictures. JJ took a deep breath and looked at the white Watt jersey that was stretched out on a canvas out front. The Jersey would go in the baby's nursery or our bedroom. Jj looked at me, with a smile, then launched the football at the jersey. He knocked the canvas over, but the football still exploded into pink smoke. I heard people clapping and cheering as my eyes filled with tears and my hand went over my mouth. I had always wanted a little girl. I had raised Melody since she was fourteen but she was already a teenager by then.

"It's a girl." JJ smiled as he gave me a hug from the side. His grin was huge, and I could tell that he was genuinely happy. Melody went to unlock the back gate so that we could get into the backyard for the baby shower. There were pink bottle balloons tied to every table, a pink lemonade fountain, a picture wall covered in pink balloons and flowers with binkies hanging overhead, and a pink football cake that said, "It's a girl!" in a pretty scrawl. There was a table set up for me and JJ and he pulled my chair out for me as we walked over.

"Thank you." I smiled at him and took a deep breath as I sat down. I was nearing 6 months and I was feeling tired. I was so thrilled to be here though. I could see Melody walking around, making sure that everything was going well. I could tell how much work she had put into this.

"I got you some pink lemonade and chocolate covered strawberries." The strawberries had a white chocolate diaper on them and a cute pink, candy bow. There were also deviled eggs that had a pink filling and pigs in a blanket that looked like babies in diapers. She had also ordered sugar cookies that were frosted like pink footballs and pink cheerleading uniforms. They both said "Baby Watt" on them. "I was thinking that after church tomorrow, we could have a spa day here at home." JJ pulled me out of my thoughts, and I smiled softly at him.

"That sounds great. I look forward to that." I kissed his cheek softly and looked back up, looking for Melody. She had disappeared. I looked back at JJ who was watching my face closely. I was so glad that I had agreed to move here with him.
