mike waited for the girl of his dreams to show up. that girl was y/n l/n. mike and her have been friends since they could remember. so, it makes sense one fell for the other.
mike was sitting down on his seat for the past half hour waiting for y/n to show up. the party told him to get up and just dance for the mean time, but how could he do that while thinking that y/n had bailed on him.
mike was quick to assume that y/n bailed on him because y/n was always an early bird. she was always an hour early to school, to parties, going over to mikes basement to play D & D.
while thinking of y/n, mike heard the music change. it was time for the slow dance.
he saw everybody on the dance floor, which he hoped that would have been him and y/n. he saw lucas and max getting pretty cozy with each other, he saw will dancing with some random girl they both knew, he even saw dustin dancing with his sister, nancy. just as mike thought about getting up and going outside, he heard the doors open.
just then he saw the girl he had loved since diapers, it was y/n. she was wearing this beautiful white dress with snowflakes at the bottom. she looked stunning. as soon as mike saw her, he stood up with his mouth opened, his knees began to go weak.
y/n was looking around for mike, just as she was looking around, she noticed those familiar brown eyes looking at her. she began to smile.
it felt like a scene of a movie. y/n started to go up to mike. next thing she knew, she was right in front of him. without saying a word, she grabbed his arm and pulled him to the dance floor.
his hands on her hips, and her arms around his neck.
just as they were slow dancing, mike finally started to speak up.
"i thought u bailed on me." mike said while chuckling.
this made y/n shocked, she thought to herself, who would bail on mike wheeler?
"i would never do that, especially with the guy i love." y/n accidentally slipped out.
this made mikes heart flutter. he couldn't handle it anymore. the next thing he knows he was leaning in and felt a pair of lips meeting his.
this move shocked y/n, but she was perfectly fine with this. overall, this felt right for the both of them.
after a couple of seconds, the pair both pulled away.
they immediately smiled at each other as they continued to slow dance until the night was over.
that night was history for y/n and mike, a story they would soon tell their children in the future.
