Chap 12

After one week

My days passed pretty normal. Morning tutions from Daniel which I started to enjoy alot. In fact, I had started spending extra time with him. As expected, James had put pizza on my shirt but this time I put coke on his hair. Melissa didn't disturb me much. I worked on the project with Kendal and James. I also met Venessa and Andrew regularly but one thing bothered me. I hadn't been called from dark London at all. I was concerned for Cass but mom had come to know about me still visiting so she locked my window and room door at night. I had also started noticing something else, I couldn't believe it myself but I felt really nice with Daniel. I felt so alive with him. I missed his tutions on the weekends. My studies had also improved because of him. Why was I feeling like this? I had no idea.

" Pizza girl!"
I rolled my eyes and sat next to James, " yeah coke guy?"
he rolled his eyes. "I submitted the project. Professor seemed really happy with it"
I nodded.
I spent the rest of the day with James, Venessa and Andrew.
After my second class, I walked home with Kendal.
"I really love chinese" she said.
"Oh. I like continental" I replied.
"Yeah thats good too."
She paused and suddenly screamed, " OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! Did you hear about the prom night?"
"What?"
"Prom night! It's happening next sunday!"
"Uhh, what is that?" she looked dumbfounded.
" You don't know prom night?"
"No" I really didn't. These things never happened in Dark London.
"You are hopeless. See, so basically its a kind of college party. You go to the prom with a date and dance. They even have drinks."
" A date?"
"Yeah. It's usually a guy asking a girl to the prom. You must get one by next Sunday."
"I'm so not going"
"Yes you are! Don't worry. I will get a date for you if someone doesn't ask you out by this Sunday. But tell me quick or you will end up with a nerd."
"Its not that. It's just....." I sighed, "Okay"
" Yay!" she screamed. " I am getting you dressed. I have even thought of an outfit! wanna hear it?"
"Uh, Okay"
She started blabbering about the outfit but I didn't listen. I was more interested in something else. Who will be my date?

"Elizabeth" Daniel smiled at me.
"Hey" I walked up and sat on my chair. I spent the entire night thinking about the prom.
"You heard about the prom?"
"Uhh, yeah."
he leaned towards me making me hold me breath. God what aas wrong with me?
"So who are you going with?"
"Umm, no one really asked me"
" So you wanna go with me?"

Wait.

Did Daniel just ask me to the prom? Oh god! I was freaking out inside. I
blushed. " are you asking me to the prom?" Seriously? that was all I could come up with?
He leaned back, "what does it look like?" He is right. How can I be so dumb.
"I dont know,yes?"
He stood up, "so you are going?"
I blushed, "yeah ok."
"Good" he started walking away.
" But won't you do the tution classes?"
" You are excused today"
he walked away. I sat there.

Daniel just asked me to the prom.

Did that mean that he liked me? I blushed and went to get my books from the locker.

Melissa and her group were giggling away.
She looked at me and snickered.
"Look who's coming!"
" Move out of the way Melissa" she did the opposite. Her gang surrounded me.
"So I guess you haven't been asked out yet?"
I clenched my fists, " I have"
" Then that must have been some nerd! but I am going to be asked out by Daniel. am I right girls?"
She looked at her fellow 'disciples'. Everyone else agreed and laughed at me.
" You are wrong melissa and I am not interested in proving it. So move out of the way."
"Girls. Lets teach this rude girl a lesson" I looked around. Two girls were advancing me. They held both my hands. I smiled.
" I pity you melissa" then I pushed back and jerked them in front. They fell down with a loud crash. One girl hurt he knees and the other had hurt her hands. Melissa was shocked but signaled the other two girls to come at me. By their actions, it was noticable that they were scared too but they still advanced. I punched one in the stomach but not so hard. I didn't want to get expelled. She fell on the floor. The fourth girl was bulky. She held my hands at the back and the fifth girl advanced to punch me. I kicked her legs and pushed my elbows into the bulky girl's stomach who yelped and fell to the ground. Once they all were down but not exactly injured, I turned towards Melissa.
" You're lucky its early and no one is there to see what I did here. Be careful next time. I walked past her.
" Oh and Melissa!" I turned around. I clicked my fingers in front of her face, "Don't mess with people you dont know." I walked away. I felt like a boss. Melissa's dumstruck face was hilarious.

For once in my life I felt glad to have my past and be different from the people at my school.
