Have you ever felt like there was something missing? Something you were put on this world to do? Well that is the theme of Hazel Landlord's life almost everyday.

As Hazel got ready for another dreaded day on campus. She expectedly got a call from her best friend Vincent Leonard. He checks on her almost every morning and never gets tired of it.

They have known each other since birth as their parents were friends. Though he was always close to her, there is a trauma in her past that she won't open up to him about. He never pressures her which Hazel always appreciates. Sometimes she feels guilty for not letting him know as he's her closest comrade.

Hazel's pov

"Good morning Vincent, are you checking up on me again?" I asked.

"You know I always check on you Haze, especially now since you haven't been taking your meds recently."

"So what if I'm not. its not like I'm going to die in my sleep." I said bothered by his extreme worrying.

The phone was quiet. I suddenly felt bad. I sighed. "Okay Vin, I'll try to take my meds more often alright?" I assured him.

"Just know you can talk to me if you need anything alright, I'll see you on campus." He said.

As the call ended I glanced at my medication. I sighed and took them one by one. After I got ready I grabbed my car keys and sat in my car. I then started driving.

While driving I notice an old, ragged, looking house that looked like it has been burnt. I then reached closer to the house and something felt off. The air was dense. I suddenly felt nauseous and drowsy. I realized I was slowing down and quickly sped up.

I have never seen that house on Ale street. It's my senior year of college. I have drove this direction every day for 3 years so far and have lived on this neighborhood my whole life yet I have never seen that house before. I suddenly feel like I'm being watched. I shrug it off and head to campus. To start my senior year of college.

As I entered the building I meet up with my friends. Vincent, Tara, Lucy, Macy, Esmeralda, and Adira. They are basically the only friend group I have. I do know a lot of people here on campus but I only consider them as acquaintances.

You already know Vincent he's my best friend... I think...

Tara Jefferson has been my best friend since 4th grade. I tell her everything. Well most things...

Lucy and Macy are twins, fraternal twins. I met them my freshman year of college. They basically do everything together. They even share a boyfriend... I'm not here to judge anyone though.

And finally Esmeralda, she is one of my most supportive friends. I have known her and her girlfriend Adira for only 2 years yet it feels like I've known them for decades.

As I zone out still thinking about the house. I realized I have been ignoring everything they've been saying. I then snap back to reality. "Haze are you okay?" Relda asked. "Yea I'm alright." I mumble as I fix my hair. "We were just asking if you'd like to go to the movies today after our classes?" Tara buts in. I agree.

I zone out again still bothered by the house I saw. I wonder why I have never seen it before and why does it make me nauseous? I kept asking myself questions I had no answer for.

"Earth to Hazel!" Tara snaps. "Are you sure you're okay girl? Is it your meds?" I said I was fine and asked what they wanted to ask me. "We were wondering if you're interested in anyone or talking to anyone?"

I struggle to answer that question. I then glance at Vincent and notice he's looking at me anxiously as if he's eager to know what I'll say. I then say no as I watch Vin's face change to relief then quickly to sorrow.

I headed to all my classes and then drove to the movies. We all entered the theatre to watch our movie. My mind is still occupied by the house. The movie ended and I realized I missed the whole thing. I see Vin look at me with a concerned look on his face as he heads to his car. I headed to my car as well ready to go home to my sweet apartment.

Third person

As Hazel was driving home she passed the old house again. This time it was different. She could hear stuff. It was stronger this time. She instantly went nauseous and almost threw up as she heard someone calling her name. "Hazel..." The voice said repeatedly.
She thinks she's going crazy and that the medication she took this morning were making her hear things. She then speeds pass the house and makes it back home.

Hazel's POV

As I make it back to my apartment I rushed to make an appointment with my doctor about changing my medication. I was then interrupted by a call from my older sister. I wondered why she was calling me at this time of day. It must be important.

"Hey what's wrong sis?" I asked. "Can you come to mom's house so we can have dinner and catch up?"

I wonder why they wanted to meet up so suddenly as we only meet up twice a month because of our busy schedules. I didn't question it.

I agreed then headed back on the road. This time I don't have to pass that house. I feel a sense of relief but there was still a hint of curiosity left in me.

As I enter my parents house I see my father outside mowing the lawn. My parents live in a huge mansion from owning 5 companies. Yet my parents still love to help around the house. They only have one maid and one chef. I wave at my dad and smile. He then smiles back.

As I enter the dining room I see my mom and my sister Eveline. I sit down and my mom told me my sister got a new job. My sister already owns a fashion design business. I was surprised when I heard she got another job. My mother told me that she is now also a lawyer. I smiled and congratulated her.

As they were talking about their careers. I zoned out again. I then realized my sister's shouting my name and I jump. "Sorry I'm just out of it today". My mom and sister glance at each other then back at me. "Are you okay? Are you taking your meds?" Why is everyone worried about my meds? I thought.

I told them I was fine but I knew something in me was not okay. We then started talking about my studies. They also teased me about still being single. I then had an idea.

"Have you guys seen a black-ish, grey-ish house on Ale street before?" They both froze and looked me dead in the eyes and said "Don't do it." . I then realized what they were referring to.

"If this is about gram's incident I'm not like her!" I shout franticly standing up and almost breaking down on the spot. "Honey.." "No mom! It's probably not even the same house! I'm sick of you guys comparing me to grams!" I excuse myself from the table then walked out of the house furiously.

I see my dad glance at me concerned but I ignore him. I pass my sister's car and enter mine. I then drive back to my apartment in tears.
