Chapter 31

I snapped out of my trance and walked towards her.

I was now standing in front of her. ''hey beautiful''. ''hey handsome'', she answered back. We just stood there for a moment. Getting lost in each other, then she broke the silence. ''so, what did you do to make me wait for you?''. ''oh, right'', I said as I took the present from my pocket.

She looked down at my hand looking at two things. One is a tiny wrapped package. The second was an envelope. She looked back up at me giving me a confused expression with a small smile. ''which one do you want to open first?''. She looked at the presents and spoke ''I think I want to open the envelope first''.

I gave her the envelope. She gladly accepted it and gave me a smile. She carefully opened it and looked at the paper that was inside the envelope.

It took some seconds for her to read it all. Then she looked up at me, asking ''is this real?''. I chuckled and answered her ''yes it is beautiful''. She was about to speak but stopped. Instead, she came closer to me and gave me a quick kiss.

After the quick kiss, she spoke ''Max, this, this. To be honest I don't have words. You named a star after us''. ''yes I did. First I thought I'd name it after you, but then I had the idea of giving it our ship name, Maope. I know it may be stup...'', then I got cut off. ''no. It is not stupid Max. I love it.''. I smiled at Hope, at what she said. ''well, then there is one more present'', I said giving her the small wrapped package.

She took it and wrapped it up. Inside of the wrapped package, was a box. A tiny box. She looked up at me and then back at the box.

She opened up the box and in that it revealed a necklace. A silver heart necklace to be exact. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes. I spoke ''hope that is happy tears and not sad''. She laughed a little then answered me back ''it is happy tears''. ''good''.

I smiled at her and she smiled back. She took me in an embrace and I took my hands around her, hugging her too. ''I hope you liked it beautiful''. ''I loved it. I love both of them. As I love you'', she said between the hug. I smiled at her words, then I answered her ''I love you too Hope''.

We stood there, hugging. For a couple of minutes, then we got interrupted. ''hey there you two are. Oh, did I interrupt something?''.

Me and Hope parted away from the hug and looked who it was, Landon. ''as a matter of fact. You kind of did, brother''. ''Max'', Hope said. I rolled my eyes. Then Hope spoke up again. ''no Landon you didn't''.

Landon looked at Hope then at me. ''well, looks like Max begs to differ. Either way. You guys coming? The cake's coming and we are going to sing to the twins. Did you forget?''. ''no, we didn't forget. Relax Lan. Your obsession with Jo is kind of scary'', I said giving him a pat on the shoulder with a funny smile.

I saw Hope looked at me and she shook her head giving me an expression. ''what?'', I asked her. She didn't answer me, instead she rolled her eyes and looked at Landon saying ''don't listen to him Landon. He is Max. We all know how he can be''.

I looked at Hope, saying ''ouch. That kind of stung beautiful. I thought you loved me?'', then I took my face in my hand and faked cry. ''really Max, really. Grow up man. You ain't a kid anymore. So, cut the fake crying. we know you are joking'', Landon said.

I removed my hands and looked up at Landon, smiling. ''you know. Should I just go get Josie and tell her about your feelings for her?''. Landon's face quickly changed from serious to concern.

''relax Landon. He won't do it. If he knows what's best for him, he won't'', Hope said looking at me. I fake gasped as I said ''oh I see. What game are we playing? I mean if I don't know what's best for me?''. She looked at me and came closer to my ear. There she whispered ''well, let's just say you want to behave. If you want my present for you. Let's just say it involves less clothes on'', then she backed away and smirked at me.

I gulped and looked at Landon, saying ''relax bud. I ain't telling her''. ''good boy'', Hope said.

''thank you. Now let's go in'', Landon said. I answered with ''yeah go on in. I'm just gonna do something first''. With that Landon went in and now it was back to just me and Hope.

I looked at Hope and asked her ''may I?'', pointing at the necklace in her hand. She smiled and said ''you may''. She then gave me the necklace and turned around. Now her back was in front of me. I allowed myself to take the opportunity and taking the necklace on her.

She turned back around to me. Looking down at her necklace.

Then she took her gaze upon me, saying ''it's beautiful Max''. ''not as beautiful as you Hope'', I answered back.

She pushed me close to her and kissed me.

After some time. We parted away from the kiss. ''we have to get inside now'', she said. I nodded, and reached for her hand. She saw it and took her hand in mine. Then we walked back into the club. Holding hands.
