Chapter 22

As I went inside starbucks, I thought I saw someone familiar. Guess it was just my imagination. I went in the line and looked at the menu, to see what I wanted and what to get to Hope. As I was next I knew what to get.

I got a caramel java chip frappuccino and a muffin for Hope, as I know she loves caramel. As foe myself I got a flat white coffee and a croissant.

I began to walk back to the hospital to surprise my lovely soon to be girlfriend (if she says yes, of course). As I was walking I couldn't stop to think about one and a half years ago, when I found out I was in love with the one and only Hope Mikaelson.

One and a half year ago

Max's pov

I, Landon and Rafael were going to a party at the Saltzman's twins. A before the ball party, as in a few hours we were going to the ball. Raf had a red Tuxedo, Landon an suit and myself a black tuxedo. However, instead of a regular tuxedo jacket I had a leather jacket on me.

As we reached the Saltzman's resident. We were greeted by the twins who looked pretty in their dresses. Lizzie Saltzman wearing a golden dress, and Josie wearing a pink dress with a hair bow in her head.

''well, hello there, three handsome boys'', Lizzie said to us. ''yeah Lizzie's right all of you look handsome'', Josie said after with a gently smile at all three of us, but mostly as Landon. ''guess I'm speaking for all of us when I'm saying you two look absolutely beautiful'', I said and kissed both of their hands, showing my courteously. Landon and Raf said the same thing that they looked pretty. The twins both invited us in and in we went.

I myself went into the kitchen to find something to drink. I wasn't going to drink that night, so instead I took some water. As I stood at the kitchen I saw some girls looking at me and whispering. Guess they whispered about who was going to go up and talk to me. Either way I didn't care and went to the living room. I saw many other people drunk and dancing, like damn they shouldn't be that drunk and risk getting kicked of the ball. However, I didn't care and just stood there and watched people dance with the one they came with. I didn't come with anyone as I didn't care that much to bring a date.

I just stood there a couple of minutes and talked with Lan and Raf, and that's when the door opened and revealed none other than Hope. She came in shining the whole room up. She didn't look beautiful not a bit, but she looked stunning. Like a princess. She had a purple dress with something looking like a star on it. She couldn't be compared with the other girls who was there. No one could ever compare with her beauty if they try even.

As I was absolutely stunned and just stood there still and wishing that I was the one who took her. Landon took me out of my trance. ''Max. Earth to Max''. ''hm oh sorry, ehm I was just in my own world for a little bit'', I said and laughed nervously. ''ehm yeah you weren't out for a little bit, try rather three minutes man'', Raf said. ''oh, three minutes' sorry guys something was caught up in my mind''. Landon started with saying ''hm well not something, but rather someone'', and he looked at Hope.

Before I got a chance to say something Raf opened his mouth ''you know Max you gotta realize you are in love with her and just go tell her, she may feel the same way. Realize it man''. as Raf said that I couldn't help, but feel he was right. I am in love with Hope Mikaelson. As I answered with ''you're actually right Raf, but I don't think she feels the same way. She's also going to the dance with Roman.'', as I said that with a sadness in my voice.

They both sighed and Landon said ''you don't know for sure, I have seen the way she looks at you. Let me tell you brother, that is not a look you give to just someone you think of as a friend''. As he said that I knew what I must do. So, I patted his and Rafael's shoulder as I was going. I went where Hope was standing.
