It's currently 6:25am and I'm sitting on the side of my bed looking at baby pictures of Alexis. It was her first day of kindergarten. She had on her cute little uniform with a bushy ponytail and no front teeth. How cute!!! And now today is Alexis's first day of high school. My baby is growing up so fast. Before you know it she'll be off to college and will forget all about little ol me. But for right now she'll be attending one of the best private schools in the area.

"Good morning baby." Beyoncé sung walking through our bedroom door.

"Morning mama's." I smiled

"Josiah's fed, cleaned, and changed. All our outfits are laid out and breakfast is waiting for you downstairs." Wow what a woman.

"Thank you baby." I placed a kiss on her lips before getting up and doing my morning routine. I decided to wear my hair down today.  Along with the Jean shorts and Versace shirt that Beyonce laid out for me. I did some light makeup and went downstairs to join Bey and Josiah for breakfast.

"How do you feel about Alexis going to high school?" Beyoncé asked while playing dinosaurs with Josiah.

"Just another day bey." I shrugged fixing a plate of food.

"Don't lie to me Onika. In four years she'll be out the house and headed to college." Why'd she have to bring that up?

".........well this is my first time taking her to school. You know. I've already missed so much time with her and now she's basically grown. I just wish I could go back." I pouted taking a bite of my bacon.

"Baby there's nothing you can do about the past. Just be there for her now and every moment going forward." That was harsh but I needed to hear it. I can't change what's already been done.

"You're right." I sighed. I didn't want to share more of my thoughts with Beyoncé I'll just have a talk with Alexis later. Once I was done eating we drove to the school to meet Ox and Alexis.

Alexis got out the car wearing her schools uniform and one of her daddy's fitted caps. You can take the girl out off New York but you can't take the New York out the girl. She ran over to us taking Josiah out my arms and spinning him around.

"I missed you juju." Josiah smiled ear to ear in his sister's arms. They're so cute I just had to take a picture of the two.

"Baby you ready for school?" I asked taking the fitted cap off her head and smoothing down her ponytail

"No! I won't know anybody there and they're all rich snotty white kids." She rolled her eyes placing her brother on the ground.

"Well that's good that means you stand out." I tried offering words of encouragement

"I don't want to stand out." She placed her head on my shoulder and I rubbed her back

"Issy go bye bye." Josiah asked

"She'll come back baby boy." Beyoncé soothes him

"Alex can I talk to you real quick?" Beyoncé asked shocking us all

"Yea." Alexis nodded before reluctantly walking away with Beyoncé

ALEXIS

"I know you're nervous about starting all over again but this time it's permanent and I can promise you that. Yes things are going to be different but that's ok. High school will be what you make it. Make memories that'll last." I semi appreciate this little pep talk Beyoncé just gave me but it's so sappy. Why can't I be one of the rich kids that just get home schooled. The bell rings signaling the beginning of the day. Maybe the faster I get in there the faster I can leave. I hug my family goodbye and walk towards the school with the other teens.
