Chapter 40: The Marsh House

Y/N POV

After telling Carley, Christa and Omid where to meet us we climb down the sign into the street.

Y/N: What now?

Lee: We have to fight our way through.

Y/N: Yes Sir.

I draw my knife and Lee draws his Cleaver and we head towards the herd. killing walkers and getting covered in their blood but they don't attack us anymore. i notice a familiar car before we enter the hotel.

Hotel

Lee and me walk down the hallway until we stumble upon a room. Lee listens for anything but he doesn't hear anything so we enter.

We look a door, which has a rope tied to its handle and connected to the closet door. We turns around and sees the stranger pointing a gun at us.

?: I got us adjoining rooms.

Lee: Where is she?

?: I already told you, she's fine.

Y/N: I'm going to kill you.

?: I have a gun.

Y/N: That won't stop me.

?: And you're missing an arm. (gestures with gun) Go over there. (Lee and me take a few steps to the side) Put your things down.

Clem: (bangs on door) Let me out! who's out there?

The creep puts the gun next to Lee's face and puts his finger on his lips.

?: Shh. Quiet, please, sweetie! Your things. (gestures with gun) There.

Lee: We don't have anything on me.

?: Really? You got all the way here without any weapons?

Lee: Lost 'em.

?: I don't believe you.

Lee: Seriously. You don't believe us? Go ahead, search us.

?: No. I'm not touching you. Just sit down.

Lee, me and the stranger sit in chairs facing opposite each other.

?: Do you know who I am?

Y/N: Yeah. I know who you are.

?: You saw my car out front, then. You see anything else you want in there? Not a whole lot left.

Y/N: Everything was just out there for the taking. Actually now that you mention it.

Stranger: For the taking?! Do you know what you took from me?!

Y/N: Besides this awesome sweater I don't care.

?: Fuck you. You have no idea. Have you ever hurt somebody you care about?

Lee: My wife.

?: Clementine said she wasn't with you.

Lee: I hurt her a long time ago.

?: How?

Lee: In a lot of ways. She traveled for work. I didn't like that. I wanted a family.

?: A reasonable thing to want.

Lee: So we fought. And it made my biggest fear come true. I got sick one day on my way to class. Canceled it and went home. Found her there with someone else. Killed him. I was mad at her for so long and I can't imagine how much pain she felt. How about you?

?: I hurt her so bad. My son, Adam, went missing. I took him out hunting even though my wife said he was too young. I figured he had to learn. I came back without him and the look on her face said... "You are a monster." We all went out looking for him. We never found him. I hurt her so bad. Then you took all of our things. You robbed us. I could've earned her trust back, Lee, Y/N. But not after that.
