"Breakfast!" I heard Bassam shout from downstairs, and I struggled even more, jumping around attempting to pull up my skinny jeans.
Skinny jeans are evil, but they're so great, and they make legs look like more than chunks of bone covered in skin. Some people even find them attractive.
"Are you ready Shorty?" For the week that I've known Jack so far, he's only called me by my actual name a few times. As soon as we got to know each other, he started calling me 'shorty' because here, I'm tiny compared to everyone else.
I wiggled my bum a little, getting the jeans to fit better, and took in a deep breathe before fastening the button and pulling up the zip.
"Yeah Jack, come in!" I called towards my door finally. He walked in with his usual goofy smile. I don't know how he can still be so upbeat and happy at this time of the morning. I mean it's 8am for god sake.
"You look nice." He told me, looking around my room. I've put 3 guitar hooks up and displayed each of my guitars, but other than that I haven't made an effort to unpack.
"So do you. Let's go get breakfast." I told him, seeing him supporting a Greenday tee. I decided to just wear a girly blouse with light blue skinny's today to set a good first example.
Today is my first day at a public school after all.
I grabbed my bag, that's literally just holding a pen- yes I'm one of those people, and rushed downstairs with Jack.

"And he just would not stop. I swear to god, his sex drive is the only thing that's keeping him near me and I don't like that. Would you stay with a guy like that, Justice?-" I opened my mouth to answer her, but she rolled her eyes and carried on complaining about her on and off boyfriend.
If I knew this was the only thing that I'd miss out on in a public high school, I would've never come here.
The girl who's talking to me 'claimed' me in first period. She's told everybody else that I'm in her group and that was the end of it. Fair enough, she seems lovely, but she's just my polar opposite.
For example, she's wearing a pink dress, and has a purple stylish backpack. She has dirty blonde locks of hair, and bright blue eyes. She seems to know everybody.
Whereas I've forgotten her name.
"He's just a complete asshole." She, hopefully, ended her speech, and then gave me a bright, dazzling smile showing perfect white teeth. "But I guess I can deal with him. You may have heard of him, he's called Alex, and he practically owns the school."
"No, I haven't-"
"Really? Alex Gaskarth? Well you'll see him at lunch anyway when you sit with us." Again, I stopped listening. I can barely keep up with the girl when I do listen to her.
She's been in all four of my classes so far, and I'm the only person she's had a proper conversation with. For someone who knows everyone, she doesn't seem to talk to many people properly.
I can still hear her voice droning on over the Math teacher, and surprisingly, none of the teachers have said a word to her about her chattiness, but if other people get too loud most teachers step in which is weird.
Maybe this is what public high school is all about, chatty girl is obviously very pretty so maybe she gets special treatment. I really wish I was better at remembering names.
"You're very quiet aren't you?" She suddenly asked me, drawing a heart on her math book.
"Yeah." I answered simply, before she went off on one again, talking about how shy her cousin is and how's it's always annoying her. She told me that I shouldn't take offence by that though.
I'm cursing my brain for being so slow. Do all people have to take in this much new information at a public school? Is this a daily thing or is it just because I'm new here? I'm going to be interrogating Jack when I see him.
The bell went off loudly, and she jumped up from her seat, and threw her math book towards the front of the class.
I felt my mouth drop open, but before I could look to make sure it didn't hit anyone, she had already thrown mine and pulled me up.
"Come on! Let's go to lunch."
I barely grabbed my bag before she had pulled me up and starting strolling out of the classroom.
