"Really? Wow, I live-" Vic cut me off.

"Don't tell the prostitutes where you live, Justice." That actually was a valid argument. I nodded me stepped back from the gate.

The girls (or prostitutes) are Sapphire and Rose, but I have a feeling those are fake names, as people in their type of work usually use flowers or a type if diamond as their cover name. I don't mind being given a fake name anyway.

"I was just going to say that I live near where Sapphire works Vic." I stared, quickly realising my mistake.

"And now she's knows the area you live in." Vic muttered to himself, sighing and shaking his head. He walked over to me and pulled me away from the gate, sitting me next to Zack again and then sitting back down, this time closer to another boy in the cell. I didn't say anything about it though, who knows what that boy could be in here for.

"Okay. The two juveniles over there," I suddenly heard Dave's voice yell; considering he wants to be left alone he hasn't stopped shouting stupid orders and parts of the law at us since we've been here.

He thinks we're all lost causes who need to be fixed with the law. He makes it sound holy, and he kind of reminds me of somebody who tries to make you change your ways and find God.

"You have one phone call!" Dave shouted to Zack and I finally. We looked to each other, I know we're both thinking the same thing. Who are we going to phone?

My thoughts went straight to Jack, but I know he'll be enjoying the party so he probably won't even answer the phone. That would be our phone call wasted.

My mom would kill me if I asked her to bail us out, it's instant death and I'm not going to put myself through that. Bassam though... I could phone him? Could I?

"Jess, I'll make it, don't worry." Zack sighed and gave me a grim look. He mustn't want to make the calls either. I nodded at him, silently thanking him. One of us had to do it.

"Good luck dude." Vic told him nonchalantly, making it seem like it wasn't a big deal. It probably isn't. We're probably overreacting. It made me wonder if Vic has made his phone call yet, if we all get one.

Zack stood up as Dave came to the gate and he was let out and put in handcuffs again. I guess they have to take precautions.

He was lead away from the gate and out of view down the hallway. We could still hear them echo around though.

"One call." Dave reminded, his voice echoing through the place. It's surprisingly empty here, you'd think more people are put in prison on a Friday night honestly.

After a few minutes, Zack's voice began echoing around the place again. Although he was quiet, probably hoping we all couldn't hear him talking to whoever was on the line.

"Hey Mom," he began softly and I smiled at his tone. He's definitely trying to butter her up ready for the conversation he's about to have with her.

"Mommy's boy." The guy from earlier taunted. I guess he's grown some balls now Zack is out of the room. I didn't want to stand for it though, Zacks a nice guy and he doesn't deserve to be taunted behind his back. I snapped at him without even thinking.

"Go fuck yourself." My voice sounded evil to my own ears and the guy grunted and looked at the floor. I could see Vic eyeing me from the corner of my eye but I didn't turn around to meet his gaze. He suddenly had a huge smile on his face and I imagine him saying something like 'you go girl' because that was the type of look he was giving me.

I didn't bother to watch him anymore, and I listened again to Zacks quiet voice. I'd already missed parts of the conversation.

"Does that really matter?...I know, I'm sorry Mom...no, I'm with my friend...please...yeah, I know...okay...see you soon." The call must've ended as footsteps came back down the hall and Zack was quickly in front of the gate again. The cuffs were taken off and he was pushed back in as soon as the door opened. Dave slammed it behind him and locked it again.

"She's going to bail us both out." Zack told me, sitting next to me again and leaning on me. I leant back into him and relaxed my body a little more, using him as a side rest. This floor is so uncomfortable.

"Thanks." I told him quietly, meaning it.

We all just sat there waiting. I don't even know what the others were waiting for though. I found myself studying the boy in the cell that hasn't said a word.

Looks about our age, long black hair, blue eyes, skinny and looks shy. I tilted my head still looking at his face. I swear I've seen him before. I racked my brain from the past few weeks and I didn't realise the boy had looked up until he cleared his throat, blushing and shuffling further away from me and closer to Vic.

There's so much space on the other side of him but he moved closer to Vic? That's out of character, surely.

Suddenly Zack started laughing and I moved my head off of his arm to look up to his face. "What?" I asked him, my voice coming out squeaky and loud. He smiled hugely at me.

"Nothing gets past you does it?" He asked me, glancing at the black haired boy who's blush got deeper. Vic was looking confusedly at Zack too, having a similar facial expression to mine.

"Zack Merrick!" A sudden voice echoed around the cells, bouncing off all of the walls and sounding louder as it did. It made me forget about the conversation we were just having. It was a woman's voice, and I'm almost certain that his mother has just arrived. "Where is he?"

"Down there Ma'am." I heard Daves voice reply and I scooted away from Zack. I really don't want her to get the wrong idea of me. Well, saying that, I am in prison and this is the first time she's meeting me.

That's always a good way to introduce yourself to your friends mother, 'oh, hi, I'm your sons friend and thanks for bailing me out of prison tonight. We should get to know each other more, yeah?'

Yay.
