childe couldn't stand the blonde hair woman any longer, and neither did she to him. they never got along ever since they first met years ago, it was a headache for scaramouche to hear countless reports from both parties complaining about everything.

when lumine got appointed to being anton's guard instead, childe felt like a weight lifted off his shoulder. he didn't even want a guard in the first place yet they sent him someone who he didn't even get along with? he didn't like it one bit.

but now, years later as they spoke again for the first time after the glares they shared at the hallways whenever they bumped into each other, nothing changed. in the end, they both walked away from each other leaving eula sighing from the sidelines who was watching the whole thing.

"[Y/N]?" he calls out, seeing that you disappeared from his side. he hung out with his siblings the whole day and never got to talk to you that much, he figured this was the time to make it up to you.

he walks towards the tables where the food and drinks were stored, that's where he saw you. you weren't alone though, you were with kaeya who had a smug grin on his face while you  were resting your head on the table.

childe's face darkens at the sight and quickly walks towards your table.

"what are you doing?" he glares at kaeya.

"well if it isn't the prince." the guard smirks. "have you come to take your princess home?"

"what did you do?" childe asked before tapping your shoulder. "hey, [Y/N]?"

"go...*hic* away...." you swat his hand away softly.

"is she...?"

"drunk? no surprises there. just look at how many bottles she finished." kaeya points at the empty bottles of wine at the table. "i found her drinking by herself looking so miserable. you didn't do something, did you?"

"what are you trying to imply, alberich?" childe scowled.

"oh nothing." he raised his hands up. "she did mention some stuff though, i didn't know your guard was a chatterbox when she's drunk."

"what did she say?"

"she was asking about the term jealousy." kaeya laughs humorously then stood up from the wooden chair he previously sat on in front of you. "i believe you know that term quite well, don't you prince?"

"just what did you tell her?"

he shrugs, "i just told her it wasn't a good idea to have that kind of relationship with a prince." the man places his hand on childe's shoulder and whispered, "both don't worry, your secrets safe with me."

"tch." the ginger slapped kaeya's hand off him. "leave, i'll take care of her."

"as you wish." he leaves while chuckling.

now that you were alone, childe sat beside you and placed his hand on your back to rub it as comfort. "[Y/N]? how are you feeling?"

"hm...?" you look up, your face quite red. "prince?"

"that's me." childe smiles. "come with me, i'll–'

"no." you placed your head back down.

"w-what?"

"don't *hic* talk to me..." you mumbled, words falling a bit.

"are you mad at me?" he asked.

"yes." you answered truthfully. "i *hic* am."

he knew you were mad, but he couldn't help but to find your sulking adorable. it was so out of character for you that he never would've thought he'd get to see this side of you.
