Vanessa
Four days had passed since the shot... FOUR FUCKING days.
I had Siona aka. Sent Mini Mads and the others home. So I spent the time alone in Mad's room.
I knew it was a silly idea, but I grabbed Mad's phone. What I found flipped a switch in my head.

Hello Madelaine
As promised, I took care of the problem with Mr. Tino. He's fired. I didn't mention your and Vanessa's names, so you and the baby shouldn't be in any danger.

Madelaine just didn't add Mr. Tino to the topic... On the contrary! She reported that bastard and got a bullet as a prize.
A familiar emptiness spread inside me. If Mads doesn't survive this, I'll be alone again and forever... But if she survives, I'm going to kick her ass like this!

But Mads didn't wake up for the next 2 weeks either. The emptiness had taken over and I was too tired to fight it.
River lay on my lap and watched Mads. The boy will be one in less than a month and I just hoped Madelaine would be awake by then. In my heart there was only Riv and Mads who could do something about this emptiness but Mads was in a coma and Riv was just a baby.
I put a hand on Madelaine's hand and clasped it, "Don't leave me Petsch... We still have so much to do... This MUST NOT be the end of our story..."

With the help of Lilli, Ashleigh and Siona we dragged Vanessa out of the room with River and into the fresh air. Lilli led the others out to eat while I sat next to mads on the bed and stroked her arm. ,,Damn Mads kindly wake up! Vanessa needs you... Something has changed in her ear, her eyes... They have lost all their sparkle..."
As soon as I said that, something changed...
Madelaine's heartbeat started to pick up speed. In a panic, I pressed the emergency button and less than five seconds later nurses came into the room and attended to Mads. A nurse pulled me from the redhead and asked me to inform Vanessa.

As soon as I had done this, Vanessa burst into the room, but was thrown out again with me.

I bounced up and down again. I left River with Siona, Lilli and co. "Please sit down, Nessa." Cami asked me, but only got a punishing look from me.
It took minutes until the door was opened and a nurse came out, "Ms. Morgan, you can go to your girlfriend, she would like to see you."
I walked past her in a hurry and smiled, "Thank you... Cami, will you inform Mads parents?" When the black-haired nodded, I gripped Mads Habdy tightly, entered the room and saw Mads' pale face... She smiled.
The rest of the nurses had left the room by now, but I just stared at the beauty. At least until she said something, "I'd get up and give you a hug, but I'm on bed rest so you'll have to come over here."

Vanessa started to move but still hadn't said a word. "What's going on?" I asked when there were only a few meters between us. I stretched out my arms to her and finally she quickened her steps. She took me in her arms and kissed me lovingly on the cheek. As she let go of me I expected a kiss on the lips but error message, Vanessa took a step back and threw my phone on the bed. I hesitantly took the phone and froze. Viola's email was open, when I looked at Vanessa again, she looked sad, "Want would you explain that to me?" I didn't want to put them on again, so I settled on the truth, "I couldn't accept that this person should get away with it. I wanted you to realize that I love you and that I would do anything for you. I did that for you babe" Sighing, Vanessa sat down on my bed and took my hand, "I really appreciate that, babe, and Mr. Tino was put in custody...'' she faltered, "But you're because of yourself put me in danger, you could have died!"
"But I'm not dead. I live!"
"But that was just luck..."
I cocked my head, "You felt left alone."
Vanessa nodded and I saw the tears in her eyes, "But you were never alone, I was always there."
It looked like Vanessa wanted to say something, but at that moment the door was thrown open and Lilli came in. She looked back and forth between me and my girlfriend and grinned, "Mads did she say yes?"
I shook my head in panic, "Shut the fuck up!"
Lilli put her hand over her mouth. "OUT!" I shouted. Lilli walked backwards and before she closed the door she smiled, "Nice that you're back, Mads."

Vanessa looked at me, Mads? What is it about?" I cocked my head, "What do you mean?" Vanessa narrowed her eyes, "Don't lie to me again!" Sighing, I rolled my eyes. Vanessa hated lies, so I had no other choice and reached into my handbag and pulled out the box, "I had actually planned it differently, more romantic . That didn't include a shooting, a coma, and a hospital, but it seems you're too impatient so that's what we're going to do." I opened the box and Vanessa's eyes began to glow with anticipation. "You've always been the most important person in my life and I've probably always loved you! I've probably always wanted to, but I didn't dare to open my mouth. I always wanted you with me and well I wanted to ask will you marry me?"

I survived the shot and now I'm marrying Vanessa.
