-BETRAYAL AND FRIENDSHIP-
The night had finally come when the people of the Midori village had started making preparations for the feast. The feast was gonna take place in an open area in the village. When Aiko announced the alliance and feast, many were delighted that they could finally live in peace.
But many were still scared and cautious about it and somewhat denied coming to the feast. At that time, Ryuu interfered and convinced them to at least come to the feast so they and their family could have a good time. It seemed a lot of people trusted him, so they took his words and agreed.
Aiko was worried about them, but she convinced herself that they would slowly come to terms as well. It wouldn't be easy to turn so many year's hatred into friendship. It will be slow and take time but it will definitely happen someday.
Different types of delicacies of food were prepared and bonfires were made. The village seemed to have its own traditional dishes which Sanji became interested in and decided to help.
Some of the musicians present in the village were also called to add life to the party. Kado and Ryuu along with some guards were busy making preparations.
Soon, the people from Aoi village along with their head, Ugarashi, finally reached the village. They were warmly greeted by Aiko and the other villagers. As the feast had started, it wasn't long until Luffy launched himself at the food in excitement.
Though something was bugging his mind. There was music, food, and people but still, something didn't seem right.
"This doesn't seem right."
Luffy stated with furrowed eyebrows as he chopped on a piece of meat in his hand. He looked kind of irritated. Usopp and Chopper who were also beside him eating the food as well, looked at him in confusion.
"The meat?"
Usopp asked in confusion, though that didn't seem to be the right answer because Luffy's eyebrows furrowed even more.
"No, the meat is delicious! But......"
"Is it the music then.......?"
Chopper asked but Luffy just shook his head in denial. With his mouth still puffed from food, Luffy closed his eyes in deep thoughts. Usopp and Chopper just looked at him in confusion. But soon, realization dawned on Luffy and his eyes burst open. He looked here and there and realized it was not the food or music which were the problem.
It was the people present there.
Aiko looked around herself to realize that the people of both the villages were not interacting at all. On one side of the bonfire stood Aoi villagers while on the other side stood Midori villagers. Even though they were eating the food, both the villages didn't seem to want to reach out to each other. Even though there was music playing everywhere, the people seemed to be quiet with just whispers going around.
There was no liveliness in the feast.
The corner of Aiko's lips tugged down into a frown. The head of the Aoi village who was standing on the other side of bonfire, just gave her an apologetic smile.
"Well, we should have seen this coming...." Aiko said while releasing a sigh of defeat.
"Isn't this bad .....?" Nami, who was standing beside her, said with knitted brows and a worried look.
"It is. But I don't know what to do anymore, even though I'm the head of the village......." Aiko said with her shoulders slumping down in defeat.
"You did all you could do. Now the rest is upon them." Nami stated while placing a hand on her shoulder as a form of condolence. But at that moment, someone's voice boomed everywhere catching everyone's attention.
