Inside the S.P.P.E.A.R. facility, Cameron sat in Polinski's office, with him sat on the other end of the desk. He was frustrated that he couldn't crack Elfen's plan. Cameron filled in Polinski on Eric's discoveries after hours of extensive research. The ancient history that had already been viewed was enough to shed some light on Elfen's intentions, as it meant they knew what Elfen had previously achieved. Could he want to rebuild his empire? Could he want to reclaim what was his and more? More questions were asked than there were answers given.
"There must be some way to break him."
"Well, usually that's your specialty, Cameron . Only this one isn't as easy to break as those teenagers."
"That's not really my area. I just do my side of the job. You know exactly who could do it, he's just too depressed at the moment. Besides, it's not like you or your guys could contain them either."
"I guess we both suck at our jobs then." Polinski had an alert come through his watch. He looked and it was a red alert, saying 'CODE-12'. "We got a CODE-12 in progress, at the sinkhole."
"Who called it in?"
"Clarkson. He's still stationed there. We have to get there." They both stood up from their seats and ran out the door.
As Polinski got into his armoured vehicle, he had another alert come through. It was Agent Clarkson again, only it was an incoming transmission. When he opened it, it was a small video file of Clarkson, taking cover behind an overturned truck. His head was bleeding and he looked dazed. He looked at the camera and spoke: "Sir! We've been overrun. There's another one, looking for the big guy. Stay at base, and alert the team." As he said the final word, a huge explosion ripped through the scene and the transmission went dead.
"Another one? That's three of this kind that have come to Earth. All within the last year. This has to be related."
"Apparently so. Cameron, alert the boys. They need to know that we've been compromised." Cameron ran off, launching a grappling hook into the air and gliding away. Polinski turned away from his vehicle and ran into the holding cells. Each cell was a pod, similar to the previous facility. He saw Elfen still sitting in his cell, not moving a muscle. He knew that It was Elfen, but it was like he was meditating, or thinking once again.
"Listen here. I know that thing that's killing my men is one of yours. What is it?"
"Time will reveal answers to all of your questions soon. Be patient. It's nearly time."
"Time for what?" Elfen remained silent, and it angered Polinski. He stormed out the cells, telling his agents to secure the individual pod.
Polinski stood with his armed agents at the entrance to the facility. He drew his pistol, and loaded it, waiting for a war. He heard thuds outside the door. As the sounds got closer, a large oil tanker burst through the door, taking out some of the agents. Polinski looked through the hole to see what had thrown the truck. He saw a large reptilian creature, covered in bulky armour that hid its skin. In its hand, it held a large staff.
"Was that your way of knocking on the door?" Polinski spoke up, but the figure kept approaching. "Excuse me. You are trespassing on government property. I suggest you turn around while you still have your life." The figure spoke in its dark, raspy voice.
"I'm here for the King. Hand him over."
"Last time I heard, the King was dead, but he also didn't like to attack people. He was more of a rock n' roll type of guy. Who are you?"
"I am General Ludon. I serve Elfen, the King of the Nexus, and he shall no longer be imprisoned by the likes of you."
"Oh that guy. He's facing some pretty nasty charges for his crimes against the planet. He will not be released."
"Then you will perish." Ludon raised his staff and pointed it towards the armed men in front of him, shooting small bursts of power at them. As agents got hit by the power coming from the staff, they vaporised where they stood, only dropping the weapons. Polinski watched in awe as his men were taken out one by one.
He looked down to his watch, and pressed his panic button. He looked around for an exit, and saw one leading to the storage bay. More armed agents ran towards him, opening fire upon the reptilian creature laying waste to the facility. Ludon saw Polinski's attempt at escaping through the storage bay, and shot at the wall above it, causing large chunks of debris to fall and block off his path. His heart sank as his only exit had been destroyed.
"Where is the King?"
"You will never reach him in time." Polinski aimed his watch at Ludon, and shot what appeared to be a small taser prong at him. It had no effect due to the thickness of the armour. Ludon stepped forward, and knocked Polinski to the ground, standing on his leg, and crushing his bones. He screamed in agony as he felt all sensation in his leg disappear.
"Last chance to tell. Don't be a hero." Polinski gritted his teeth together in an attempt to manage the pain, but to no avail.
"I'll never tell you. You're just a pest. You'll have to kill me."
"As you wish." Ludon raised his staff and aimed it at Polinski. As he sung it down to hit him, Ludon went flying across the room as an unknown force pushed him out the way. He looked up to see Henry towering over him.
Inside his prison cell, Elfen felt the crystals near him, and could hear the damage happening in the facility. He knew what was going to happen and smiled, waiting patiently for his companion to release him from his bonds. The tables were turning, and the group now arriving together, had no idea what was yet to come.
