Five typical teenagers from New York City are faced with tragedy and drastic changes as they are forced into a life altering situation. When a sinkhole opens up in Central Park and traps unsuspecting civilians, the five discover a hidden secret that had been locked away from civilisation for thirty-two million years ago. However, as the sinkhole opens up buried secrets, it also opens up an ancient evil force, that seeks revenge on the universe for turning against him and starts by reeking havoc across Earth. With help from new friends under the command of a special government organisation and new abilities they discover along the way, they team up to protect the world from the galactic threat planning to conquer their home.

The story is set on post-apocalyptic Earth. A hundred years ago, the "X virus" broke out. Transmitted through liquids and gases, it had an extremely high mortality rate and quickly infected nearly all life on Earth. The human population plummeted from 7 billion to 3 billion, but those who survived discovered their bodies evolving, becoming faster, taller, and stronger. Tragically, animals also began to evolve, becoming even more powerful than humans. Bullets couldn't penetrate their armor, and even nuclear bombs couldn't threaten high-level monsters. With modern technology practically useless, warriors rose to prominence. Through training, these warriors mastered immense powers, allowing them to battle monsters tens or even hundreds of feet tall. Humanity lost all its oceans and islands, including Australia. Ultimately, only five nations remained: these five great powers formed humanity's 23 base cities. Decades passed, and it wasn't until the rise of the protagonist, Zorro, that the balance between humanity and monsters was finally broken.
