A/N: I'm sorry. 😩 I've returned. My little baby brain keeps malfunctioning.

"How was work yesterday?"
"I had to help a woman find the right size harness for her puppy. Turns out she was in between sizes, and none of the dog harnesses would fit. So I tried a cat harness and it did!"
Natsu chuckled and leaned back on Aina's bed. The brunette continued to search through her bag and gave a small 'aha!' when she found what she was looking for. She held a pen and a ruler.
"Why do you need that stuff anyway? You take calc."
"Physics."
"That makes no sense."
Aina ignored him and started working on her worksheet. Natsu sighed and laid completely down on his back, closing his eyes. He almost drifted off to sleep when he felt the bed dip.
"Aren't you doing homework, sweetheart?"
"I finished."
He felt her lean over him, and his suspicions were proven true when he opened his eyes to see that both of her arms were holding her up as her face hovered over his. A couple seconds after his smirk, he knocked her off balance, causing her to fall yet again.
"Why do you insist on doing that every time?"
"Because it's fun. Besides, this is a much better position."
She could feel his hand hovering over the bottom of her shirt. She mirrored his actions and tugged the bottom of his shirt up. He laughed quietly and helped her take it off. She put her weight on his shoulders and leaned down. Natsu decided that he didn't want to wait any longer, so strong hands made their way to the middle of Aina's spine and guided her closer. His arms wrapped around her, trapping her from pulling away. The brunette looked surprised by his actions, as her brown eyes quickly found his black ones.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. I got you."
Those words echoed in her heart. Her stomach twirled, but she didn't hate the feeling at all. Those words, so simple yet so full of meaning. A blanket of warmth coated her mind, and she took hold of his hands, placing them both on the edge of her shirt. Never before had she felt so safe. Maybe it was the fact that he had already proven that he would protect her. Maybe it was the way he said it - so soft, but a serious aura pirouetted around both of them. She spoke hesitantly, her voice soft and almost too quiet to hear.
"Do you think you could fall in love with me?"
Her senses came back to her, just a second too late. She hadn't meant to say that out loud. She reluctantly looked down to see that his eyes were wide. God knows what was going through his mind. She knew what was going through hers: mental curses, possible outcomes (all bad, if she was being honest), an escape plan. But wait. Wasn't she in her own house? An internal scream sounded within her, realizing that there was no good outcome to this. She couldn't leave to go home because they were, unfortunately, already there. And she couldn't get him to leave. There was no way she was making him walk all the way back to his apartment because she couldn't keep her mouth shut. If she was going to make him leave, she would surely have to drive him back, defeating the whole purpose.
"Aina!"
Her focus returned back to the salmon haired boy. He made no move to escape from her hold, and he looked at her filled with concern.
"Huh?"
"You completely spaced out."
"I, um, sorry," she chirruped.
