"Okay, so I have it all worked out. If we finish our calc within 20 minutes and move onto health then we'll have enough time to work on English before my mom calls us back home."
Natsu shut his fridge and stepped back into the living room.
"That list is way too intimidating for my tiny mind, sweetheart. I'm not doing all that."
"It's not that bad. Besides, the health work is just a poster."
"Wonderful," came Natsu's sarcastic reply. "Because I know how much of a skilled artist you are."
Aina puffed out her cheeks and crossed her legs as she sat on the floor. Her bag was dumped out, books sprawling over the floor as paged through the different worksheets. Natsu sighed loudly before joining her and grabbing a worksheet.
"I do one," he stated firmly. "And no more."
Aina's eyes lit up, and she quickly got out a couple pencils and handed him one. It had been about fifteen minutes when Natsu tossed his pencil aside and leaned away from the piles of papers.
"Can we stop now?"
"But we're almost finished."
"I need a change of task or something. This is way too exhausting."
Aina looked at the incomplete sheets and went back to Natsu's bored expression.
"Can we do some listening for the reading then? You don't have to actually read if you just listen to it."
"Whatever you want," he slowly spoke.
The brunette took one look at Natsu's relaxed face and decided to abandon her worksheet in favor of shuffling over to him. Natsu had, as his senses usually did, noticed her approaching presence.
"Can I help you?"
He didn't get a verbal answer. Instead, he felt her hand silently crawl through his hair. A small chuckle left his mouth, and he cracked one eye open to give her an amused look.
"Aren't you supposed to be doing homework?"
"I could say the same for you," she quickly countered.
Natsu's hand went to rest on her upper thigh, eliciting a surprised jolt from the salutatorian. Brown eyes trained on the hand that was lazily pressed against her skin, only relaxing when she felt the soft touches of his thumb tracing a series of small circles.
"Do we really have to continue with this? It's such a bummer."
"I guess we can take a break. I don't think you'd let me have a choice anyway."
Natsu opened his eyes and gave a lopsided grin before pushing himself to a sitting position and stretching his arm out in front of him. Aina joined him on his journey back into the kitchen, both of them going for the glass cabinet.
"At least we got basically all of calc done," Aina remarked.
"Yeah, and that's enough for the day."
"But what about English? We have a discussion tomorrow."
Aina heard a small groan from behind her, and when she went to reason with him, she felt his lips on the back of her neck. She rolled her eyes and wiggled free from his grip.
"We need to do work."
"I'm sure Justine will give you a pass for one day, sweetheart."
"Exactly. Which is why I need to save it for when I actually need it."
Natsu laced their fingers together and yanked her to him, earning a small squeak and a scolding.
"I say we take a break. Whaddya say, sweetheart?"
