Hey, I have returned. Here's the new chapter!

P.S. The song above sounds good when played with the chapter. I do not own it.

P.P.S. If you are not using a computer, sometimes the song will not show up. I'm not sure why. Enjoy!

"He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun."

- Psalm 37:6

Uriel's POV

I summoned the door back to the real world and we left my realm, Superboy holding my hand gently the whole time. It was both a comfort and an encouragement to keep going, I guess I'm bad at hiding how nervous I am.

Especially since it seems like everyone is watching me out of the corner of their eyes. Their gazes aren't suspicious, actually, they seem to be going out of their way to make their faces warm and inviting. I appreciate it, I really do, but it feels strange having this much attention on me.

I guess if I'm going to be spending most of my time with them, I better get used to the attention.

The portal opens back up into the now empty Gotham Cathedral, and the heroes and their protégés lead me to a phone booth. The older heroes go first, with a few of them nodding and smiling at me. Hawkwoman and Halkman give me matching comforting smiles before disappearing with a flash of light into the phone booth.

After Robin gets teleported, it's my turn. Superboy nudges me forward with a small smile.

"Go ahead, don't worry, it's safe. The others are already on the other side, and I'll be right behind you."

I take a deep breath, then nod, walking into the booth. I hear a feminine, digital voice speak before I'm momentarily blinded by a yellow light.

"Recognized, Guest, G01."

When the light fades, I open my eyes and take a minute to blink rapidly. I am standing in a large cave, with obviously advanced technology lining the walls of the room I'm standing in.

Standing in front of a large computer are the people who teleported before me, and-ohmygosh their all LOOKING AT ME.

Am-am I supposed to do something? What now?!

"Ummm," is my intelligent response.

Thankfully, before I can do something embarrassing, Superboy comes through the portal behind me, stepping forward and taking my hand back in his warm one. I relax a little, holding his hand is surprisingly comforting. I can't remember the last time anyone held my hand.

My last life maybe?

Superboy starts walking forward, kindly but firmly leading me closer to the others. He stops when we are standing a few feet from the protégés, or I should say, when HE'S standing a few feet from the protégés.

I on the other hand, am hiding mostly behind him, only my hair and my wings poking out.

I blush when I hear a few giggles. I haven't had to deal with people in a long time, I'm just not used to it! Don't giggle at me!

Batman clears his throat and starts to talk.

"Now that we're all here, there's a few things we need to address. First of all, Uriel," under Batman's gaze, I stiffen reflexively. Superboy squeezes me hand and sends me a worried look, "not now, but later, we'll need to determine the extent of your powers. We need to make sure you can control your abilities, or you may end up hurting yourself or others."
