Zorrick soon led the rangers and cadets left from the ceremony, except for Donotyr, to the backstage area where the food was located. The table was wrapped in a large cloth so that the food could only be brought out when the dining rangers and cadets arrive.
Even before the food was brought out, Deng was already worried about Donotyr and how he was feeling.
"You stay here first. I'm going to Donotyr to find out why he's not here and what's wrong with him."
"I told him about it, but he didn't want to listen. He just left. He didn't even wait for the feast," replied Zena.
"If that's the case..."
"It's okay. Nothing is stopping you from going to him and asking him what is his problem," Vinith replied.
Before the feast even started, Deng left and followed Donotyr to his room to know what had made him frustrated.
"Donotyr, what's wrong?" Deng asked.
"It is that Azotha held the inauguration ceremony without giving Fugmius a funeral," Donotyr replied. "I believe that she was the one who had him killed."
"Maybe she was the one who sent for the assassin," Deng added. "And that your supposed knighting ceremony was a ploy for her to have Fugmius killed."
"I hoped that I would be an official ranger during that ceremony so I can serve Yirrim, but all of this was taken from me soon. I doubt that Azotha will do what she said on stage," Donotyr responded.
"Don't worry. Azotha may knight you someday, seeing that you are progressing well with your cadet training," Deng replied.
"There will be a possibility that it may happen or not. I do not have hope that this will happen as Azotha may have hidden secrets that will be revealed later. We do not truly know what Azotha's true colors are," Donotyr said.
