The next morning, Absaut, a Miraluka ranger, was bidding farewell to his cadet friend, Echani Mana Altis, as she was going to her training, not knowing that it would be the last time that they would see each other.

"Mana, do your best in your training session, especially, it was extended because of what happened to Fugmius, who is our leader, on the day which would have been your knighting ceremony. Remember that I will be always here to guide and support you," Absaut reminded his friend.

"I will, Absaut. I will always be grateful for your support, despite what is happening lately. No matter what happens, will you still be there for me?" Mana replied.

"Of course, Mana, I won't leave you."

Absaut embraced Mana for a few moments and patted her head a little before she left to go to the training room, as he happily watched.

When Mana moved away from his sight, Absaut then walked out of the headquarters to patrol the forests. Suddenly, he was shot in the leg, forcing him to scream in pain as he stumbles and runs huffing while three Ignominies open fire, failing to hit him as he continues to run. As he prepares to fight back, numerous blaster rounds are then fired behind him, piercing through his shoulder as he coughs out blood before fighting with his all, killing two of the Ignominies but was later on shot to death by another, killing him in an instant, before the surviving Ignominy escaped.

Deng Corrik and Vinith soon notice the body of the slain ranger, along with the two Ignominies whom he killed out of self-defense.

"Anyone! Ignominies were reported to be seen in this area!" Deng yelled.

Zena came running to the crime scene.

"W-what is it?" Zena asked, just arriving at the crime scene.

"Aren't you supposed to be with Donotyr?," Vinith mentioned as she saw Zena.

"Oh," Zena said as she ran off to Donotyr's room to fetch him.

When Zena arrived, she noticed that Donotyr was sitting down, fully dressed in his cadet uniform, patiently waiting for Zena to fetch him. As soon as he saw Zena, Donotyr immediately stood up and left with Zena to train with her outdoors, away from the mocking and taunting of the nit-picking, harsh instructor.

"What about Zena? Would she help us with this issue?" Deng asked Vinith frustratedly.

"Didn't we just talk about it yesterday, Deng? Didn't you hear about what Donotyr was saying about the instructor from his training yesterday? Zena has to train him now for that instructor to not know that Donotyr is still a part of this organization." Vinith replied to Deng.

"Oh, I see now. Let's just continue solving this issue even though there are only two of us, Vin. We must let Azotha know about this incident."
