Star Wars Legabeck Episode I: Shadows of the Past

Chapter 11

"Everything is going as planned," a Chiss named Zhedoya reports to a Miraluka. A female Pantoran, an assistant to the Miraluka, was silently listening to the report.

Zhedoya's hair is tightly tied in a bun and was wearing a dark gray, slightly tight suit with a dark red jacket. Compared to Fugmius's hair, the Miraluka's white hair is a bit arranged. His all-black motif had shades of crimson, which the Ignominies often wore, as a symbol of their brutality, especially against their vassals and captives.

"The assassination on Fugmius was successful," Zhedoya said with confidence. "I also believe that Legabeck has, unfortunately, escaped and is hiding somewhere as a ranger."

"How about the infiltration of the rangers' headquarters? Was it successful?" the Miraluka, Fogvar, asked.

"They will never know... These rangers are too dumb enough to know that they are now under the control of the Ignominies. Once they are all dealt with, we will regain control over all of Yirrim, and everyone will tremble with fear."

An Echani cadet was being trained to fire blaster shots under the supervision of a Chiss instructor. However. the cadet's shots missed every time she tried to target it to the center. She just buried her hand in her face after a failed shot.

The instructor was quick to berate her after failing the last shot.

"If you miss a shot again, I'll kick you out of here. You can't go back again here for training!"

The cadet panicked when he heard what the instructor told her. She was trying to center her blaster in the middle of the target board only to miss it when she fired the shot.

The instructor just angrily pointed at the door as the cadet just left, running.

When she ran out of the training room, she immediately looked for her friend Absaut, anticipating that he would comfort her, but met Vinith, very afraid and worried as she was running from the instructor.

"Wh-what's wrong?," Vinith asked. "Who are you?"

"I'm Mana Antis. I-I'm here because I'm running from the instructor... Kowathvo... He sent me away because I kept missing the target several times at the shooting range."

"I'm Vinith."

"Where is Absaut? What happened to him?"

"He very much looks like the ranger who was seen dead with the two Ignominies. I'm sorry. There is a big chance that it's him."

The cadet burst into tears hearing Vinith's words.

"I also have a friend who is also a cadet. Maybe you can get along, it's just that our friend Zena is with him outside. I don't know if my other friend Deng will agree to let you stay here with us. As for now, just stay here with me," Vinith replied as she consoled the cadet.

Deng went to Azotha's office to report to her about the deaths of Absaut and the two Ignominies. However, Azotha was not in her office but noticed a Zeltron, similar to the one who hosted Azotha's appointment as a leader, guarding the office.

"Hello, Sir. How may I help you?," the Zeltron asked Deng.

"Could you tell me where Azotha is?" There is a serious problem as Ignominies were found alongside the body of a ranger. I need her help. Right now."

"Sorry sir, maybe she's busy training cadets. Check if she's in the training rooms."

Deng then thanked the Zeltron, before he decided to check the training grounds one by one.

Just then, Vinith and Mana were ambushed by several Ignominies. Vinith, although struggling, was able to fend off the Ignominies with her cane, killing them in self-defense, which amazed the young cadet. However, Vinith was still wondering where all of those Ignominies came from. The two immediately ran out of the area after the Ignominy attackers were killed.
