POV [Reader]
It was late already and everyone left the sakura tree, expect me and xiao. We both stayed at the tree and cleaned some stuff. As we finished, Xiao felt alittle dizzy since i felt his aura getting darked which made me worry that i cleaned ul faster than him.
After we finished i talked to him.
„Are you fine? "
I gently took his hand and Enclosed his hand in mine, while staring at his gold/yellow eyes.
„i.. I'm fine.. We should go now.. Its late"
He smiled at me and separated our hands what made me alittle sad. But i knew that there still was something fishy.
„and thank you for the great day, it was something different today than the other days.. "
His aura calmed down what made me sigh form relief and i hugged him, he hugged me back and we both went outside the cave. After we saw the bright fullmoon a few monsters came running at us, i grabbed my polearm and start to attack but xiao insisted to fight
He pulled out his jade spear and putted on his mask to defeat the monsters. He finished them off under 5 minutes, he began to breathe harsh so i ran up to him.
„Are you really fine?.. You should rest when we get back.."
He took of his mask and i helped him to calm down a bit, i thought that he would be abit tired to teleport back to wangshu inn so we went by foot.
As we reached the bridge to guili plains xiao asked me something.
„What was in the letter you gave the traveler..?"
He asked calm
„uhm well.. Like i said, old friend.. "
I made a emergency lie since i want to meet up with miko and i finished my duty as adepti..
„you're lying. "
He stared at me while i got goosebumps.
„what..do you mean..? "
I askes and looked at him and stoped walking
He grabbed a letter that traveler actually gave me after he came back from inazuma.
{Flashback 5 hour earlier}
„[Reader]! We met the 'person' you wanted us to give the letter to! " Paimon flew at me with a letter while Aether still running after her.
„i thinj your sister is alittle mad.. "
Aether Whispered to me what made me a little surprised.
„Why tho? What did you guys do? "
„WEll paimon told Miko about Xiao and I think shes mad in the letter"
Aether explained and looked alittle mad at Paimon while she is giggling
„its fine.. Main thing is that xiao Doesn't know about anything"
I smiled at them and laimon gave me the letter but i putted it in my pocket to read it later to enjoy the party...
{flashback end}
„oh.."
„Wanna explain this? "
He raised his eyebrow and is about to open the letter.
I was about to panic As a hillichurl ran to us aggressively, Xiao gasped amd putted back his mask on. While attacking my letter fell of his pocket so i took it As chance and grabbed ir without him to notice. After he finished them off he came back to me and i got more nervous.
He was about to grab into his pocket but gladly i took miko's letter away from him.
„where is the letter?! "
He yelled at me while i looked shocked at him.
„dont you understand any private! Its a thing ABOUT ME! Why do you even wanna know it! "
I yelled back, little tears forming in my eyes. He looked at me with a shock in his eyes, he hasn't seen me cry since Pervases dead. He hugged me.
„i.. Im sorry, i should've understood your privacy.. "
He apologized and i held his hand into mine again, he kissed me forehead and we both went Mute to wangshu inn, the quietness was louder than the insects. Nobody dared to speak a word.
„if you want to know what's inside.. You could've asked me and not take the letter without stealing it"
I broken the quietness from us.
He nodded and took my hand,he held my hand tight and i did the same.
It was dark but the moon was very bright.. As we reached outside wangshu inn, i wanted to run inside but xiao let go of my hand, as he suddenly fell onto his knees..
„Xiao?"
„Xiao! "
„XIAO! "
