I was about to enter the studio, but then Murray caught up with me.
"Sam, my lovely. We were afraid you weren't gonna, you know... show up" he said.
"We?" I said.
Murray gestured to a bunch of other dogs.
"More dogs? How..." I gasped.
"They're strays. I thought they'd need our help" said Murray.
"Murray, we're only doing this for Milty. And I don't wanna be stealing dog food. It's bad enough I'm making it for Ward" I said.
"I know, Sam. I'm sorry. But if you could get at least one bag for them? I promise I'll send them on their way" said Murray.
"Very well. Wait here" I said.
I hurried back into the studio but my vault was locked. I wasn't supposed to be working in there until later.
I needed to unlock it, so luckily I knew where the key was.
I snuck into Posner's office to get it. Fortunately, he wasn't around.
A portrait of Adam West came to life and said "Sam. What are you doing in here?"
"Yeah, okay, my husband shows up with... I said not to. I told him, he goes and gets more dogs... yeah, it's a disaster. Anyway, they're hungry, the dog food vault is locked and I need the key" I said.
"Your husband wants you to steal dog food?" said Adam.
"Yes. No! It's... ugh! It's complicated. It's Murray. He just doesn't understand these ideals" I said.
"I see" said Adam.
"At least I know he'll never tell my Baba. She'll be after me with her mouth open and..." I started before finding the key.
I lifted the key off of a file with the title "Adam West's Will".
"Hey. Your will! Oh, this is interesting. Mind if I..." I said.
"Not at all" said Adam.
I turned on a desk lamp and opened the file.
With the will, I found a news article with Tracy's face on it.
"Tracy? Why would Tracy be filed with your will?" I said.
"She has mentioned working with Burt" said Adam.
Under the article was a letter to Posner.
I read Adam's will first.
I, the undersigned Adam West, leave my interest and business in the Batman studio to anyone as close to my dear friend and acting partner Burt Ward. If this does not happen in five years after my death, it shall pass to the people currently working at the studio. Signed, Adam West
Then I read Posner's letter.
To Victor Posner,
Remember me? The one who stole your daughter from you?
I understand your want to protect Tracy, but she cannot go through with your madness anymore.
She is now my wife and I can't let you run her life like she's a slave or something.
The bottom line is that I shall not give up on her. I love her too much.
I hope to hear from you soon and that you understand.
Until then,
Burt Ward
No! That can't be!
I looked at the words "she is now my wife". And this letter was from Burt!
From Burt... Tracy... wife... oh my gawrsh!
"She's Ward's wife?!" I shouted.
"Burt married this woman?" said Adam.
"How could you not know this?" I said.
"I'm a figment of your imagination. If you didn't know, how could I?" said Adam.
"Well, I've been helping Ward's wife get away from her abusive father! And I've been so much closer to him than I thought!" I shouted.
