The rain had stopped. Damini was headed towards the bakery. Peter and Annabell had said they would meet her there in 10-15 minutes. Which was great. Right now all Damini needed was a chocolate cupcake and someone to talk to about all these crazy things. In other words, Felix. Felix was her best friend, a person she can tell anything to, even something as crazy as this. Damini knew that Felix wouldn't laugh at her. She trusted him more than anything, more than her life. Felix had been her best friend for years, actually, her ONLY friend. Felix probably should have retired by now. He was about 65-70, but he was really agile and, after all, he owned the bakery. She was looking forward to meeting Felix a lot, her mind was going crazy, and she just HAD to share her thoughts with someone. The rain had just stopped and there were a lot of puddles on the road. She crossed the road and headed towards the bakery. When Damini reached the bakery, Felix was leaning on the counter. She smiled and waved, and took a seat. He smiled back. "Hey, Damini, what's up?" Felix walked over to her. "Oh, you will not believe what happened!"

Felix grinned. By now, Felix was used to Damini's "Oh, you will not believe what happened!"s, but this was no comparison to the petty things she'd told him before. "Well, I believe in a lot of things."

"I doubt you'd believe me in this."

Felix gave her a friendly wink. "Try me."

Damini sighed. "Alright..." She said slowly and looked at her feet. "I know it might sound crazy, and you probably don't believe it, but... this snake lady, named Medusa, who is a Greek myth and should not be existing, but is, killed my parents when I was five, and now she's after me because of, you know, the glimpses I have." Felix was the first person Damini ever told about her glimpses. Also the only person until Peter and Annabell. "So, that's that.." Damini expected Felix's face to be very puzzled, or, surprised at the very least. But when she looked up, she saw his face break into a wide, evil grin. It looked completely out of place on Felix, the caring, old baker, who was always there for her and heard everything she said attentively. Damini didn't understand it. Why did he seem happy? How come he seemed to understand what she said?

"Really?" Felix grinned. Damini didn't understand whether that was a question or a statement. "And how exactly did you find this out?"

"Well--" She started

"Took you long enough," Felix said calmly.

Damini was confused. "Wh-what do you mean..?"

"Medusa assigned me the job to spy on you until you get into her clutches. Medusa wanted to bring you in when you turn 16, but I guess she won't mind if I speed up the process a bit." Damini's heart shattered. She couldn't believe her ears. Her best friend, the only person she talked to, the person she trusted more than her own life, was working for the monster who killed her parents and was after her life? Damini just couldn't believe it. This couldn't be true. And for the first time, Damini hoped this was all just a nightmare.

"But--How...?" was all Damini could say before she heard the bell on the door of the bakery ring. Damini saw Peter and Annabell enter the bakery. Perfect timing, she thought. She was saved. But when she looked at Felix, he still had that broad, evil grin on it.

"So long, kid" Damini saw Felix raise his hand to punch, and the next second, everything was black.
