Recap:
"I'm all alone..." I drag out, somewhat singing the words.
"You know, I don't have a date either..." Hunter starts.
"And?" I ask. I completely skip over the salad and make my way over to the bread.
"And...we could be alone...together?" It sounds more like a question than a statement.
"I don't know..." I trail off. I turn my back to him so he can't see me smile.
"Do you think you have room for one more troubled soul?" he asks, softly.
I turn around. "Did you just quote Fall Out Boy?"
"Maybe."
I smile and nudge him with my elbow. "Ya, I think I got room."

Hunter and I walk back to the table. Hunter walks so close to me that every time his arm moves, his suit brushes against my bare arm.
As we reach the table, I see the four all mingling, having a good time. Both Adrian and Eddie waggle their eyebrows at me. I roll my eyes and give them a suggestive look.
"So," I start, making conversation. "What school do you guys go to?"
"Rowell," Sam says, speaking for both her and Olivia. I smile and glance over at Hunter.
"That's where I'm going after winter break."
"Really?" Sam asks. "Where did you go before?"
"I lived in Chicago."
"That's so cool!" Sam smiles. "My aunt lives there and I spent last summer there."
"What are you going to Rowell for?" Olivia questions.
"I sing, dance and play a few instruments. What about you guys?" I can barely register what Hunter asks, because he has his face semi stuffed with food.
"I'm into visual arts, like drawing and painting." Olivia smiles.
"Drama. I absolutely love acting," Sam replies. "What about you guys?" she says, pointing to Adrian, Eddie and I.
"We go to Lakeview, but we perform and stuff too."
"Stuff?" Sam asks.
"We sing and dance, ya." Adrian clarifies.
"Well, they sing. I rap. I also DJ." Eddie smiles when Sam looks at him impressed.
"So," Olivia asks. "Why don't you guys go to Rowell?"
"It's a tradition in my family to go to Lakeview. If it wasn't, I'd definitely be going there." I reply.
"That's what you think," Hunter mutters, covering it with a cough. I glare at him, which only makes him smirk.
"What about you guys?" Sam asks.
"Never thought about it," Adrian says, shrugging.
"We take classes and stuff at the community center, I guess that was always enough for me." Eddie says.
"Interesting," Sam says.

After dinner, Mom walks back on stage. "Hello everyone, I hope you're having a good time." She smiles brightly. "Now, like every other year, it is time for a bit of entertainment. I'd like to invite my daughter, Davis, to the stage to perform a little song for you."
