The three of us look back and forth between each other. I'm frozen in place. Adrian coughs, causing Hunter and I to both look in his direction. "Well," Adrian mumbles, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "That got awkward fast."

I roll my eyes and cross my arms. "No, really?"

"Well," Hunter starts, "It's nice to know you think I'm hot and all Davis, but uh, why did you knock again?"

I cross my arms and share a glance at Adrian. He raises and eyebrow, asking the silent question. Suddenly, Adrian stands up straighter and crosses his arms. He turns to glare at Hunter.

"A little birdie told me that you've been talking to my Davis. Is that true?" Hunter pales slightly, despite how cocky he normally is. I can't exactly see Adrian's face now that he has turned, but whatever he is doing is working. I have to cough into my arm to hide my laugh.

"I know you're new here and all, but nobody, and I mean nobody flirts with Davis and lives to tell the tale."

"Dude," Hunter says raising his hands above his head. "I didn't know she was taken man. I swear." Before our plan can go any further, I start laughing.

Hunter turns his attention to me, looking confused.

Soon Adrian joins me and we are both laughing hysterically. Hunter just stands there, looking confused as ever.

"I'm not sure I'm following. First you threaten me and now you're both...laughing?" As I register what Hunter is saying, I take a deep breath and wipe the tears away. All that laughing really hurt my stomach.

"It's just that I can't believe that that actually worked, that's all." I shrug my shoulders and look at Adrian, who is just recovered from our laughing fit.

"What do you mean, it worked?" Hunter runs a hand through his messy brown hair. "You mean your boyfriend threatening to kill me? Ya...I got that."

I stared at Hunter for a moment. "What worked is you thinking that I was actually dating him," I say, pointing over to Adrian. "I mean seriously? He's a terrible actor!"

Adrian puts a hand over his heart in mock hurt. "You know Davis, I don't what I'm more upset about. The fact that you are denying our love, or the fact that you insulted my acting skills." He places the back of his hand on his forehead, leaning back and sighing dramatically. I roll my eyes and he falls back onto my bed.

"So let me get this straight." Hunter's bright blue eyes look back between the two of us. "You're not dating?"

"Nope, he's just a friend," I say.

Adrian sits up on the bed. "Her best friend."

An idea pops into my head. "You wanna hang out with us? Our other friend Eddie just left."

I watch as Hunter has a mental debate, before he nods.

"Just come over after you put a shirt on and stuff. I mean, It's winter for crying out loud. Aren't you cold?" I had been meaning to ask that the whole time. More than once he has had a conversation with me, shirtless. How could you not be freezing!

"Are you sure you want that? I mean, you think I'm attractive and all." Hunter's eyes gleam with mischief. Right then, Adrian makes himself known again.

"While she may find you attractive, I sure as hell do not. Put a shirt on." This earns an eyeroll from Hunter.

"Alrighty then, see you in a few." With that, he closes his door. I walk over and close mine aswell, the cold starting to really get to me.

++++

"Alrighty then," Adrian says as we all sit on the floor of the studio. "It has come to my attention that I know nothing about you, other than the fact that you and your family stole Davis from Eddie and I the other night."
