~Great Hall~

As Lavender and Parvati huddle over a dozen teacups, Avidly interpreting patterns in hushed voices, Draco, arm bound in a sling, holds court before a clot of Slytherins.

Pansy: "Does it hurt terribly, Draco?"

Draco: (a tad theatrical) "It comes and goes. Still... I consider myself lucky."

Y/n is standing near Tom between the Gryffindor table and Slytherin.

Y/n: "Damn I hoped it woulda been worse."

Tom: "Would've taught you a lesson about respect."

Draco shuts up immediately. Harry, Ron, and Hermione watch from the Gryffindor table.

Ron: "The little git. He's really laying it on thick, isn't he?"

Harry: "At least Hagrid didn't get sacked."

Hermione: "Yes. But I hear Draco's father's furious. I don't think we've heard the end of this..."

Y/n sits near Hermione. Tom sits across from her.

Y/n: "That mother fucking son of a bitch!"

Tom: "What's wrong, love?"

Y/n: "Draco just got me kicked out!"

A ministry owl lands in front of her. Y/n skimming the letter.

Y/n: "Welp. I've got my own mansion now."

Tom: "That was the sword."

Y/n: "Which means what next?"

Tom: "Engagement, wedding; sequence of events."

Y/n: "Oh."

Tom: "The sequence of events will probably be the mansion, you falling in love, and an engagement, ending in marriage."

Y/n: "Oh. Welp, I've gotta set up a meeting for the disappointment club."

Regulus: "What? Did you get kicked out?"

Y/n: "Yep. I should've been a Slytherin."

Regulus: "So, what you aren't a Slytherin. You're twice as brave as Sirius and I. I mean who can bad mouth The Dark Lord to his face."

Tom: "I still don't care. I think it's adorable."

Y/n: "Hmph!"

Tom: "Awe."

Y/n: "Hmph!"

Tom pulls her into a side hug.

~A little farther away~

Dumbledore: "Young love."

Trelawney: "Soulmates."

McGonagall: "What are you two on about?"

Dumbledore: "Y/n Riddle."

 Trelawney: "Tom Malfoy."

Flitwick: "Y/n just got disowned for being Gryffindor."

Trelawney: "The sword! The sword happened."

Dumbledore: "I think she's in love with him but won't admit it."

~Back at Gryffindor Table~

Seamus: "He's been sighted!"

They turn. Seamus and the other Gryffindors are huddled over a copy of The Daily Prophet. Ron: "Who?" But the photograph on the Prophet's front page provides a chilling answer: Sirius Black. Hermione reads over the shoulders of others. Whispers half to herself.
