Mike guided the group through the narrow tunnels of the sewers, the gray water practically up to everyones waists as they walked. They'd just finished climbing down the well and it was safe to say, the space beneath the town was revolting. Elaine gulped, wanting nothing more but to turn back and go back home. Sadly, it was too late for that now. Her palms were practically dripping as her grip stayed firm against Richie's equally sweaty hand.

"This is where it hid," Mike informed the group, Elaine shiverering at his remark. Eddie groaned, walking behind the couple. "Gray water," He muttered disgusted. Elaine gagged in realization, too distracted by everything else to recall she was swimming in thousands of gallons of piss and shit. She shoved her face against Richie's shoulder, hoping maybe it could block off the horrid stench. Newsflash, it didn't.

He squeezed her shoulder reassuringly, though deep down he was just as afraid as she was.  Eventually reaching the end of the tunnel, they were all glad to see a floating island in the center of the large room. Ben spoke shakily, almost shocked, "Shit. This is it." He earned a few groans in return, everyone hoping this would be over soon. "This is where it happened."

Elaine lifted her head, looking around the room. Her breath caught in her throat, bringing back all the memories. It was so different compared to last time. This time around, there were no floating children, no junk and the floor was barely visible as it was flooded with sewage water. It must've clogged through the years. Everyone braced themselves, jumping into the even deeper water to make their way to the island.

The water was freezing, making Elaine's heart drop. As her body adjusted, she struggled to swim to the center of the room due to her feet no longer touching the floor. Richie noticed her struggling, extending a hand to help his wife get onto the platform along with all their friends. "Alright, doll?" He hoisted her up, watching Elaine sigh relieved the moment she set foot on the island. "Now I am,"

That feeling didn't last very long when Beverly looked worriedly around the water. She laughed uneasily, "I thought I heard something." Before she had the chance to reach the platform, something suddenly emerged from the water, "Time to sink." It hissed, pulling Beverly down into the depths of the water. The figure itself reminded Elaine of the women who'd attacked Stanley all those years ago.

Elaine stood frozen in place, Richie and the rest of the Losers quickly jumping in to go after Beverly. She panicked as she looked down into the water waiting for them to pop up, though they never did. "Guys!" A voice pleaded from behind her, also looking into the deep waters. Elaine felt a weight lifted off her shoulders, slightly reassured by the fact Eddie hadn't had the courage to go after Beverly either.

"Richie..." Her voice trailed off as she cried silently, trying to pack up the bravery to jump in after them. Everyone knew she just didn't have it in her. Especially Pennywise. Before Elaine's thoughts could further, Richie and the others swam back up to the top, their heads pounding as they gasped for air. She and Eddie both felt immense relief, their shoulders finally dropping as they let go of a breath they hadn't realized they'd been holding.
