Third person:
Haru awoke up a little and sleepily looked around. There was a huge female-looking shadow standing over him. He tried to scream, but quickly found his mouth covered, restricting his breathing so he had to breathe through his nose. His eyes searched frantically for his father as he was lifted out of his cot and brought towards the window. They lingered on Izuku for a few seconds, sleeping and curled up tight in the blanket. He had gotten so used to hugging Katsuki that he was hugging a pillow closely to get the same feeling.
Haru grasped his small, limited edition Hero Deku plushie tightly, breathing in the smell. He felt himself being held closely to a woman's chest. It wasn't bad, he just preferred his parents' touch so much more.
The woman holding him had now lowered herself out of the window and was steadily working her way down. A few moments later, the woman holding Haru was safely on the ground and she was running somewhere. Haru heard the slamming of a vehicle door and looked up.
The woman holding him was quite pretty. She had golden eyes, and messy buns at either side of her head. She was smiling sweetly at Haru, luring him into a false sense of security.
"Toga, stop staring at him. Seriously, you can't grow attached. We're doing this to lure the Izuku from the future to us." A harsh voice said.
"Right. Sorry Shiggy." The girl apparently named Toga said. She still held Haru, gently. "Don't worry, little baby. I'm not going to let you get hurt, even if you are Izuku-kun's child." She smiled.
The van pulled up outside a boarded up pub. Toga had let down her hair for Haru to play with. He seemed to like that. They hadn't bought - well stolen - a lot of toys. 3 teddies, 2 spare blankets, clothes and 3 bottles should be okay, right? Well, it would have to last. It looked like Haru would be playing with Toga's hair a lot, then.
Haru was starting to get sleepy, being carried around like this. He nuzzled into Toga's shoulder, wanting to go to sleep. He felt himself be carried upstairs and into a bedroom. Toga carefully placed Haru down on her bed. He didn't object to this, but it didn't feel right sleeping on something so big when he had gotten used to sleeping in a crib.
"Go to sleep then, little baby..." She whispered, grabbing a blanket and a teddy for him. Haru must have liked the look of the teddy because he woke up fully and made grabby hands at it. She smiled, and gave it to him. Oh. She hadn't realised exactly how small a baby would be. The teddy was almost bigger than him. Oh well. She grabbed the other blanket, folded it up and placed it under Haru's head, to be used as a pillow. There was no point in investing in one, because Haru wasn't going to be here long. Izuku-kun was definitely going to come and get his kid back. She then used the other blanket to cover him up, so he would stay nice and warm.
Toga dimmed the lights and smiled at the baby dozing off in the middle of her bed. "Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite~" She whispered happily, then switched off the light. Big mistake.
He started crying super loudly. Toga hastily switched the light back on and stared down at him. It wasn't easy to stay patient and loving with a baby who cried every time it was dark... that was it! The dark. Haru was scared of the dark! Toga smiled, happy at herself for figuring out what was wrong with him. She was certain she had a nightlight somewhere.
5 minutes later, she found her old heart-shaped nightlight and was surprised to see that it still worked. It was battery operated and she was surprised that the batteries weren't dead. Sure, it was pink and girly but it worked.
She found a place for it and switched it on. It glowed a fairly dim white. That'll do. She smiled at the tiring baby, switched the big light off and watched Haru snuggle down and go to sleep. Carefully, she tiptoed out of her bedroom, taking great care when shutting the door behind her.
Haru's dream (writing from his POV):
I awoke to see Daddy standing over me. He looked really scruffy, like he had just come back from patrol. Still, I was happy to see him. I hadn't seen him all day. Dadda had been playing beepo with me all day and Izumi had been at daycare, so it was just me and Dadda. We had a very big huggle before Dadda put me to bed. Now Daddy was here! Today was going super duper well.
"Hey brat." He said, smiling down at me. I reached up to him, and he got the message I was trying to get across. "Upsies? Okay then."
He reached down and lifted me up, holding me close. "Have you been good for Dadda today?" He asked. I internally screamed "Yes!" and I would've physically done that too but I was unable to.
I managed to turn myself over while he was holding me to reach for my Hero Deku plushie. He got it for me but also got my Dynamight one as well, wanting me to choose.
This was awful. It was like choosing between both my dads. And there was no way I'd be able to do that without struggling. I waited, thinking, for a very long time.
"Alright then. I get it. Just have both of 'em kiddo." Daddy said. I smiled and hugged them both closely. He placed me back in my cot, not hesitating at all.
Obediently, I snuggled into both plushies, burying my nose in them. I tried to faze out Daddy and Dadda's conversation but I just couldn't.
"Hey Deku."
"Hey, Kacchan! I've got to go pick Izumi up from daycare. Do you mind if you have to look after Haru for about half an hour? It's just that it's always a big hassle taking him with me and it's easier not to."
"Yeah, that's fine. Although, don't think you're leaving without a kiss from me."
A few soppy noises later, I thought it had ended. I looked up to see both my parents in a really close embrace. This wasn't fair. How dare they have a huggle without me? I sat up as best as I could and reached out towards them.
The two of them were so wrapped up in their embrace that they didn't notice me reaching out for them. And that was extremely uncharacteristic of them. I turned around frustratedly and laid down properly, face down on the bed. That made it super easy for me to go to sleep. And I very proudly did just that.
End of dream. (third person POV resumes again)
Haru woke up and wasn't at peace. The room he was in was just a little bit too dark so that it still scared him, even though it wasn't pitch black. And the dream he had just had about his parents had left him feeling extremely homesick. He really wanted his dads. He turned into the makeshift pillow and cried softly, not wanting to alert the nice girl.
End.
A/N: Okay, people. It's finally done. The next chapter is going to take a really long time to come out but, I promise that you'll get it. :)
Hope you all enjoyed, cover image isn't mine and yeah, bye, for a bit.
