((I'm aware that the image has no relevance to the chapter whatsoever, but it was really hard to find a bkdk image that was close to what I was looking for. I found this and absolutely fell in love with it and needed to share. Jirou looks so upset in the background. I love it. She's like: 'you two are so dumb. I know Mineta's bad but god, this is too much. Kaminari, why the heck are you cosplaying a stripper. I'm done. Bye ya'll.'))
The light beamed through the open curtains, pleasantly surprising Izuku Midoriya awake. Immediately the 24 year old pro-hero knew something was wrong. For the first time in weeks, he had actually woken up by himself, rather than to either a baby crying or his husband's caring, thoughtful kisses.
He glanced over at the digital alarm clock, feeling like he had overslept. He had tremendously. Usually he woke up around 7:00am but it was literally 12:34pm. He immediately felt bad and decided to go check on Haru.
Izuku's face paled as he saw the empty crib at the bottom of the room. The All Might blanket was disorganised and both Haru and his favourite plushie had gone. Wherever he was, he had taken his plushie with him. Izuku had an awful internal image of Haru, kidnapped by villains, sobbing hysterically into his limited edition Hero Deku plushie.
But also he knew that he shouldn't jump to conclusions. These thoughts were irrational and he had been on this earth long enough to know that. Perhaps the 3-A pupils had heard him crying and had taken it upon themselves to look after him until he woke up? Yes, that would most likely be it.
Izuku walked down to where the common area was and approached Aizawa. The constantly sleepy teacher opened one eye. "What?"
"Uhm... I woke up this morning and Haru wasn't where I had left him. Have any of your pupils got him?" Izuku asked.
"I don't know. Why are you asking me? I suggest you go ask them." Aizawa said. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going back to sleep. Don't disturb me unless you're on death's door."
Izuku turned away from his old homeroom teacher, feeling seriously dissatisfied. He really hadn't changed, had he..?
"Okay then," Izuku mumbled to himself. "Who do I start with first?"
Timeskip: [Izuku procedes to ask everyone, and i mean everyone, about his missing child. He comes to the conclusion that someone outside U.A has taken him.]
"Sh*t, Sh*t, sh*t. Now what? Haru's been f*cking kidnapped. Right. Tell Kacchan, check CCTV and... and... Ah, I am a bad parent, aren't I? Kacchan's gonna kill me... god... I hope... Haru's alright... alive..."
Izuku was completely panicked. He was muttering wildly to himself, clearly a coping mechanism that hadn't been given up. He reached for the emergency walkie talkie in his iconic backpack. Trying his hardest to control his irrational breathing, his shaking fingers reached for the 'emergency' button.
"DEKU?!"
As soon as Izuku had hit that button, his husband's very loud but concerned voice came blasting through. Even at that great moment of peril, Izuku found the urge to laugh. But he had learned self-control very well, and quickly told himself to calm down.
"Kacchan, something really bad has happened..." He said softly, turning down the tone of his voice to a calming one. He didn't want Kacchan to freak out too. "Haru... he got... taken. By the League of Villains from this universe, I think. Kacchan, you're gonna have to see if your parents can look after Izumi tonight. I plan to get Haru back and there's no way I'm gonna be able to defeat them without you. I would say bring Izumi along with you but it's way too dangerous for her. Can you do that for me or is that too much?"
A short silence ensued. Until Katsuki cleared his voice and spoke up.
"I'll see what I can do, Deku, but I can't promise anything. I'll see if I can get where you are at around 9pm?" he answered, trying to hold in his sheer frustration. He was hoping that he sounded as calm as his loving husband, but there was no way that he did. All he had to do was hold it together until Deku said nothing else.
"Sounds brilliant, Kacchan. Thank you. Love you." Izuku answered, his voice cracking. There were already tears leaking down his flushed cheeks.
Katsuki breathed heavily, feeling his heartstrings pull. It pained him to hear his husband most likely crying, and not being able to help in any way. "Love you too, Deku. Bye." He whispered.
"Bye." Izuku mouthed, feeling that if he did say something, he was going to be wailing. The call ended and Izuku brought his hand above his mouth, to muffle his crying. He quickly muttered an 'excuse me' and rushed upstairs to his assigned room.
He silently closed the door behind him and collapsed on the bed. He buried his head in the pillow and cried for a while. How long exactly, he didn't know.
His son was gone. He might be dead...
'Well, at least Kacchan was going to be here soon,' Izuku told himself. Soon...
End.
Word count: 786 words.
A/N: Apologies for the short chapter and the angst, but this story does have a somewhat happy ending, I promise!
