"So, you managed to kill the dragon?"
King Nightmare asked, sitting on his throne, eye focused on Dust, the warrior who had just came back and finished the mission the King gave him. Dust stood there, still injured, nodding his head. Deep down, he's not sure if Nightmare believed him. He didn't kill the dragon, he spared the dragon. But he told the King of the Dark Union that he did killed it. King Nightmare said nothing for a couple of seconds, staring at the injured subordinate of his. Then, he closed his eye and smiled,
"I see. You've done a great job then."
King Nightmare stood up from the throne, walking down the short stairs, approaching his little subordinate. Once he's in front of him, he cupped his chin and look at his face, seeing the wounds and dry blood on his face and the rest of his body.
"...I guess your reward can wait another day, you need to be healed. Cross and Killer said they'll patch you up and they're waiting in your room. You can go home after that, and tomorrow, meet me in the backyard in the morning for your reward."
King Nightmare let go of his chin and went back to his throne, sitting on it. Dust smiled and nodded at him,
"You are dismissed."
Dust then walked away from the throne and went out of the room. He closed the doors and leaned on it, sighing heavily. He couldn't believe that King Nightmare believed him, he thought that someone like him cannot be lied to. He looked around the hallway for a minute before walking away from the throne room. He went upstairs and immediately went to his bedroom. When he opened the door, Killer and Cross are both waiting for him there, with some first aid kit.
"There you are, kid! Sit down, we'll heal you up."
Killer said as he patted the bed, telling Dust to sit on it. Dust smiled softly for a quick second before walking inside the room, sitting on the bed as Cross and Killer began on healing him and patching him up.
"There, all patched up!"
Killer said, finishing after a few minutes. Dust just gave them a small smile as a thank you before frowning again, stroking his arm as he stared at the floor. Killer and Cross looked at each other in confusion, then back at their little teammate. Cross sat down on the edge of the bed,
"Are you okay?"
Dust looked at Cross, his eyelights moved to Killer then back at Cross. He shakes his head slightly, then smiled,
"Yes. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well, you seem worried about something, kid."
Dust looked at Killer, pausing, then shaking his head again, "No. I'm not. I'm okay, I'm just," he inhaled deeply and then exhaled, "tired."
Killer and Cross shared a look again before looking back at Dust and one of them nodding, the other shrugging. Cross stood up,
"Well then, we'll go back doing our business and you can just take a rest here. No need to go home." Cross said. Dust nodded his head. Killer reached out his hand with a balled fist, Dust immediately understand as he fist bumped with Killer. Killer grinned and then he and Cross leaves the room, closing the door shut. Dust sighed as he looked out the window, the cave can't be viewed from this room in the castle.
He's just a little bit worried, even if Nightmare believed him, there's a high possiblity that he's just pretending. But he's hopeful that Nightmare will never find out that he failed the mission and spared the dragon's life. Dust untied the scarf from his upper arm and folded it neatly, then putting it on the bedside desk, then, he removed the cape he's wearing, he patted it until the dusts and dirt on it disappeared then folding it, putting the cape right beside the scarf. He laid down on he bed, sighing, covering himself with the blanket then stared at the ceiling for a coulle of minutes before falling asleep.
