Harry

I woak up to the sound of a females voice. Last time I checked, Louis had a fairly masculine voice. Sure, it was high pitched, but not this feminine. I reached my hands out for him, but I was grasping at air.

"Louis?" I groaned, sitting up. My first thought was why the fuck was I in a field. My second, who's Idea was it to let me sleep here in the first place?'

I massaged the kink in my neck and blinked my eyes, clearing away the blurriness of an early morning. A lady, my mother, noticed I was up and rushed over, placing a small hand on my sore shoulder.

"Oh, Harry!" She sobbed, clinging to my shirt. "You're okay!" I patted her back and tried to soothe her, but the women was hysterical.

"I'm okay mum." I promised, wondering why she was this upset. For a women who was never around to ask about my day, she seemed more upset than she should be that I disappeared for one night. "I just fell asleep here."

She looked at me with her big brown eyes and sighed, pulling me into her embrace.

"So this doesn't have to do with Lissa?" She asked against my shoulder.

"The date didn't go well mum." I said, biting my lip in suspense. She stiffened for a second and leaned back, looking into my eyes.

"Well. I suppose there's not much we can do about that then." Anne shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal. My mouth dropped open in shock. It wasn't a big deal. She wasn't mad. Who is the lady and what did she do to my mother?

"You're-you're not mad?"

"Oh, Harry!" She smiled, a wet, sad smile. "I can't say I'm not a little disappointed, but that's only because I wanted you to be happy. I thought having a girlfriend would make you smile more, but I suppose it was a bit much to set you up blindly like that. Look, I know I'm not the best parent little firefly." I smiled at the old nickname. "In fact, I'm not good at all. But I want to be. So from now on, I'm going to try my best to be here for you two. Your stepfather left us Harry. I'm sure you've picked up on that by now, but you never had a strong relationship with him anyways, he was never around, and I don't want our relationship to turn out like that. You're my son and it's time I start acting like your mother.

"Mummy." I whimpered, my bottom lip trembling. This is what I had wanted. A normal, loving relationship with my mother, and she was giving it to me.

"I'm sorry Firefly, I really am." She cooed, stroking my back. "Let's get you home." I allowed her to hold my hand as we walked the ten minutes to my house. On the way there she asked me what I've been up to lately.

"Just the norm." I shrugged, thinking "Louis' name wasn't norm' and then laughing out loud over my own pathetic joke. "That's reminds me mum, was there anyone else in the field with me this morning when you found me?"

I wanted to know where Louis was. He hadn't called or texted, nothing to assure me he got home safely. I inconspicuously pulled out my phone and typed 'where are you?' Before sliding it back into my pocket.

"No." Anne narrowed her eyes. "Who would've been there Harry? You didn't..sleep with Lissa did you?"

"Ew!" I made a face a disgust. "No! I told you I didn't like her. I just had a really vivid dream that someone was there." The lie was well told, a rarity for me.

"Well, regardless I'm just happy you're home safe." She chirped, hugging me to her side. "I spent almost the Whole night searching..well that and listening to those Tomlinson's until 5am." She rolled her eyes.

"The Tomlinsons were loud?" I asked, remembering that the girls were normally pretty quiet at night. They weren't obnoxious at all. Louis was sometimes, but that was before I fell for him. After that, he was just cute.

"Mmm" she hummed, opening the front door for us. "The cousins are in town this week.

The Tomlinson cousins came to Doncaster once every year. They were four, rowdy boys with no sense of judgement or a lick of common sense. The group consisted of Matty, who was ten, Garrett, who was twelve, Tye, who was eighteen and Jep, who was twenty.

Whenever they were visiting, even I, the most placid person you'll ever meet, had the urge to strangle them. Jep especially got on my nerves. He was the one who orchestrated all of the boys endeavors. That's not to mention he was extremely attractive with broad shoulders and Sandy blond hair.

He was also the one who peed in my fountain when Niall was over. Niall. I hadn't seen the blonde for two days which, for us, was a lifetime.

"Hey mum?" I asked, already reaching for my phone. "I'm going to call Niall. I'll be right back." I promised, racing up the stairs. I dialed his and launched myself onto my bed. It felt much Better than the field I'd slept in.

He picked up on the third ring with his normal, cheerful tone. We caught up about what had happened recently, and I filled him in about the date.

"You mean to tell me you threw up on her shoes?!" He laughed, probably blue in the face by now. "Oh man that's good."

"Nialllll." I whined, hiding my face in my hands. "Please don't bring It up." Of course he ignored me.

"How did Louis react?" He asked, settling down a bit.

"He found it quite amusing as well." I admitted, blushing even more. My idiotic best friend began laughing again.

"This is gold mate. Liam's here next to me trying not to explode in laughter. You should see him."

"Liam's there with you?" I asked. I knew the two got along well, but I didn't know they hung together. It was actually really surprising..in a good way.

"Yeah. He's good company mate. We're besties now, aren't we Lee?" I heard a muffled response from Liam, and I couldn't help but smile. "Alright, H I gotta go, but I'll call you later alright? Don't let those Tomlinson cousins get you."

"Don't worry, I won't. Bye Niall!" After we'd said our goodbyes, I joined my mum in the kitchen where she was making ham sandwiches for the two of us.

"There you are Harry!" She smiled, handing me a plate. "You were up there a while."

"Just talking to Niall." I sat down on the couch. "Thanks for the lunch by the way."

"You're welcome sweetheart, it's the least I could do." She plopped down next to me and bit into the sandwich which was surprisingly good.

"So, what are you going to do for work now?" I wondered, wiping my hands on a paper towl. She took a sip of her milk and pointed towards her office.

"I'll work from home for a while. That way we can spend time together." She cheered, hugging me again. It was a little overwhelming, but I was grateful.

We made small talk for about an hour, and I actually learned that my mother could be a lovely women if she wanted to be. She seemed to be changing for the better.

Everything was perfect..that is until I ruined the moment by asking about the Tomlinsons.

"Have you ever met Jay Tomlinson?" It was a solid question, and I was curious. She seemed taken aback.

"Well..yes we went to highschool together." She cleared her throat. "We didn't get along, just like all the other Tomlinson/Styles generations."

"What would you do if I was friends with one of them?"

"With who? A Tomlinson? They're bad news Harry. Don't even think about going near that household, do you hear me?"

"It's kinda hard when we live right next door." I muttered under my breath.

"I said, do you hear me?" Anne repeated, more urgently this time." I nodded viciously and glanced down at the floor. How could I think for a second that she'd accept Louis and I? She's changed, but not that much. She'd never change that much.

That night, I could not fall asleep. Louis still hadn't responded and it was making me nervous. What if he was kidnapped? Murdered? I tried one last time to call, but the machine went straight to voicemail. With a huff of annoyance, I tossed my phone across the room and placed a pillow over my head, trying to block out the morbid thoughts of something harming my Louis.
