THE LETTER

I wake up to my alarm at about 10 AM. It's the middle of summer break. It takes me a while to actually roll out of bed.

I'm home alone. My sister is at her boyfriend's house doing who knows what, and my parents are on a trip to the States for work stuff.

I walk to the bathroom. I take a shower, wash my hair, and all that stuff. I go to the kitchen to pour myself a bowl of cereal when I hear a knock on the front door

"coming!"

I open the door, but there's nobody in sight. I look down and notice an envelope addressed to me. I pick it up and read the fine print on the front of the envelope before opening it.

'Hope's Peak Academy, where hopes, wishes, and dreams really do become reality'

I start getting excited. Did I actually get accepted into Hopes Peak? I hurriedly open up the envelope almost ripping the paper inside. I take the paper out and start reading it.

"Dear (F/N L/N), we at Hopes Peak Academy, are proud to say that you, along with a handful of other students, have been handpicked by us to attend our school. You have earned the title of ultimate guitarist, due to your prodigious ability with a guitar. Before you get too excited, there are some rules and regulations you need to abide by, similar to any school. a few of them are:
1 - Leaving campus while class is in session is strictly prohibited. If any student is found leaving campus grounds during school hours, they will be punished accordingly. While this offense is foolish and childish, it is also a very unacceptable act. You all should know better. Academics are not the only important part of attending this academy, but also attendance. If attendance starts becoming spotty and unexcused, we will be forced to look into it. If we find out you have been skipping classes, detention, or even suspension, could be a result of the offense.
2 - Upon arrival on the first day, each student will receive 2 items. One being a student identification card, and another being a tablet with all the information you will need for attending here. This includes but is not limited to:
Your schedule
A map of the school
The names of the teachers
Your due homework
If any of these items are lost, please report missing item/items to an assistant principal. these items are of the utmost importance and any student would be unable to continue learning here without it. If broken, please go to room 236A with 50 dollars to replace it. If broken on purpose, the person who broke it will be responsible for the damages. If stolen, please report the person/people to an assistant principal ASAP and the thief/thieves will be punished accordingly.
3 - Tardiness isn't something that is taken lightly here. Multiple counts of tardiness can lead to punishment, so please avoid showing up late.
4 - Each student will have their own room. It is expected that each student keeps their room clean as if it were their own house. Any substance or alcohol found in your room will be confiscated, and the student whose room it was found in will be punished severely.

More information will be revealed during orientation on the first day of school, August 26th, at 8 AM. Any student who shows up late, as stated before, will be punished accordingly, no matter how late you are. Otherwise, we expect great things from all of you and we are excited to meet you all.

As I finish reading, I begin dancing around the living room. I can't believe I was actually accepted into Hopes Peak! It's a dream come true! I shoot my parents a text and don't bother telling my sister, because she would be pissed that I got in and she didn't. I laugh to myself a little.
