((your pov))

I wake up in a dimly lit classroom. I'm sitting at a desk near the middle of the room. I have all my stuff, well, most of it anyway. My phone is nowhere to be seen. Maybe I dropped it or something?

I look around the room. I see a large, bulky camera on one side of the room, a TV screen on the other, and what appears to be large sheets of thick, heavy, metal. They're screwed to the wall with large screws made with the same material. I wonder what's behind them?

Before I let anxiety hit me I notice the school crest drawn on the blackboard and let out a sigh of relief. At least I know where I am. But what happened? How did I get here?

I look at the clock and notice it's almost 8. Crap, I'm so fucking late. I start running towards the door when I run past the desk I woke up in and notice a note on it. Was that there before?

"Good morning sleepy head, rise and shine! orientation in the gym ASAP"

I notice a picture of a bear on the bottom right. At least, I think it's a bear. Half of it looks like just a normal teddy, but the other half is completely different. It's dark and has a menacing look on its face completed with a wicked smile. I remember the time and start running for the door and try to find the gym.

I exit the door and look around for the gym. To my left, is a blocked-off hallway with a sign that says "Despair Hotel."

"Why is it called despair?" I think out loud. "It doesn't matter, what does is finding the gym." I turn around to my left and head towards the nearby hallway.

I pass a large red double door, a blocked-off door labeled A/V room, a school store, a door labeled "exit" and a square-shaped bench with some sort of pit in the middle. Before I get distracted trying to figure out what it is, I run into another student, as one does in every romantic story like this one (fourth wall what???), causing her to drop some of her stuff. She has dark purple hair, braided down past her waist, and a matching dress. She also has a red bowtie, and underneath is a white dress shirt. She has glasses and an almost petrified look on her face. Kinda cute, I think to myself. I help her pick up her things and before I could say hi or even sorry, she runs away towards, where I could only assume, the gym is.

As I follow her unknowing lead, I pass another blocked-off door labeled "nurse," bathrooms, and a blocked-off staircase. Take a right and there it is. A large double door labeled "gym" stood right in front of me. I open the doors and notice some old stuff in a glass display case. Trophies and medals, as well as a katana, are on display. I go through a second pair of doors, seeing about 15 other people, who I assume are other students. In front of us is a large stage, with a podium and a microphone. Nothing is happening yet so I decided to introduce myself.

I walk up to a guy who isn't chatting with anyone so I decide to try to converse with him. He's tall and slender, with medium-length blonde hair. he has glasses and a black suit and pants.

"Hey, man" I try to start up a conversation with him. "Name's (Y/N L/N), I'm the pro guitarist around here haha!" I say with a confident smile. "What about you, huh? You got a name?"

The guy just looks at me and scoffs. He kinda reminds me of my sister. He stares me down for a while, directly into my soul.

"We're not here for introductions and friendly conversation. This is a school. We come here to learn. A so-called 'pro' would respect that."

"Jeez. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed haha."

"This has nothing to do with waking up wrong. This is how it is. I have no time for your silly attempt at talking to me."

Jeez. so much for first impressions on that guy.

"My name is Byakuya. Now, what will you do with this information? Surely nothing worth my time."

He scoffs, and walks away, leaving me in a state of awe. What the hell is that guy's problem? Did I say something wrong? As I'm thinking about what I could've said that triggered that reaction, a familiar girl with long, dark blue hair runs up to me and hugs me.

"Chi Chi! it's been so long!" She says

"S-Sayaka?"

"Mhm! I'm so happy to see you again Chi Chi!"

Sayaka lets go of me and smiles

"Why do you still call me that name? That last time I liked it when u called me Chi Chi was in primary."

"Well, what else am I gonna call you?"

"I do have a name. I've had it for a while, not sure if you noticed."

"But I like Chi Chi better."

I start to get butterflies in my stomach. I remember I used to crush so hard on Sayaka in secondary school. She was my main obsession at the time. But, the butterflies soon turn into rats, because I remember when I told her about how I felt. I remember it all like it was yesterday. the day she rejected me.
