In chapter 6 when Chris was fighting in Zaxby's, I mentioned that he and Morgan have only known each other for four months, making it  early/mid December. The thing with So's mom happened a few days later. So's mom has been in the hospital for four weeks in the last chapter and in this one a couple more weeks have gone by. So, I skipped over Christmas and majority of January. Now it's about to be February.

It's been a couple weeks since our last run in with So's mom. She was havin' a seizure right before we left. So panicked a lil' bit, while I went to get a nurse or doctor. Anybody I could find or recognize really.

The doctor said we should just leave her alone for a while. Give her some time to rest and heal up. Of course, So's stubborn ass ain't know how to take that, so she caught an instant attitude with the doctor.

"You heard from So yet today," I asked Morgan in the kitchen.

"Nope," she shook her head. "You need to talk to her though."

"You think I ain't been tryna talk to her demented ass? She actin' like she can't hear a brotha' out."

"Watch yo mouth in my house boy! I ain't gon' tell you again," Ms. Monica yelled from the living room.

"Sorry," I yelled back. "But, she ain't tryna hear me, babe. I ain't finna waste my breath."

"Apologizing to somebody you call your sister is waste of breath? Chris seriously?"

I nodded and then shrugged. "Yeah, if she ain't tryna listen to me."

"You're so full of it," she slammed the cabinet she was looking in and walked out the kitchen.

"Lil' girl. Slam something else in this house." Her mom spoke from the couch.

"My fault." She muttered before stopping abruptly, making me bump into her.

"Back up off me bruh," she yanked away from me.

"Bruh, what you mean? You stopped."

"And you wouldn't have bumped into me if you wasn't so close."

"Why is you trippin'?"

"I ain't trippin'," she mocked my accent. "You just getting on my nerves."

I hate when she do that shit. We talk the same. My accent is just stronger than hers.

"What I do?"

"Nothing."

"Are you serious right now," I turned her around to me. "So you just givin' me attitude for absolutely no reason right na'? I can leave if you want me to Morgan."

"Bye then," she removed my hand from her arm.

"Aight, peace," I chucked up the deuces and started to leave.

"Where you going Chris," Ms. Monica asked.

"Nowhere. Ya daughter trippin', so Imma sit right here until she text me."

"What happened," she tried not to laugh.

"No disrespect to you or ya daughter. But," I rubbed my bottom lip. "She crazy."

She laughed this time. "What you mean boy?"

I explained to her a little of what's happenin' with So and I told her what I said to her in the car. She was all ears while I was talkin' and the shit felt good. I was in the middle of telling her what happened with Morgan in the kitchen just now and she laughed.
