~Morgan, I know we ain't together. But that's all I want. I don't want nothing or nobody else if it ain't you. I understand you needed your space but don't you think it's been long enough? All a nigga be thinking about is you. When I'm with Keeis and them I can't even focus on being with them and having fun because you ain't there. We young and all that shit but I think I love you. Please don't ask me how I figure that because I honestly don't know. But that's what it feels like. That feeling I get in my stomach whenever you smile at me, when you touch me. I ain't gon' say the shit tingle 'cause that's gay, but you know the feeling. I know you do. Please...just...I don't know what the fuck I expected to get outta this. I just had to let you know some of what I'm feeling.

I spent all day reading Chris's message over and over again, debating on how to respond. I laughed when I read, "I understand you needed your space but don't you think it's been long enough". I don't know why, but that was really funny to me.

"Mommy," I walked down the stairs.

"What's cookin' good lookin'," she shook her hips a little bit, turning the stove off.

"Ew. Please don't do that again," I grabbed a plate and began fixing my food. "Anyway, Chris sent me a text."

"Saying..."

I showed her the message and she smiled at me. "What?"

"How are you going to respond?"

I shrugged. "I don't know. I was thinking about not responding."

"Don't you do that boy like that. I like him."

"Well date him. He likes you too."

"Lil' girl," she gave me a look. "Do not make me hit you upside the head with this pan."

"Nah, you straight."

"Call that boy and tell him to come over here so you can stop pouting."

"I don't want to."

"Yes you do."

"No I don't," I laughed. "He can stay where he at," I shrugged. I really don't feel like being bothered with him right now.

Just as I was getting up to head back upstairs my phone started ringing. It was Chris and my mom gave me a look so I answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey, what's up?"

I smirked to myself. "Who is this?"

Chris sucked his teeth and sighed. "Quit playin' man."

"Okay, okay. Hey Chris."

"You doin' somethin' right now?"

"Nope. I was just talking to my mama."

"Oh, come outside right quick."

"What?"

"Come outside."

He didn't even give me a chance to respond. He hung up and I made my way outside. He was leaning against the hood of his car with some flowers and two boxes. I fought the smile that was trying to make its way onto my face and stood directly in front of him.

"Hi."

"Hey," he breathed out.

"What you doing here?"
