When we got to the nurse's office, he wasn't there. "Well, we'll just have to come back later. Okay, this is getting annoying." we look at each other. "Let's go to the gym and try not to talk to anybody." We walk towards the gym and into locker rooms. I change and get out. "Coach Carri!" we yell. "What?" she says walking towards us. "Everybody go warm up!" she yells. "We just wanted to let you know that we are talking in unison and can't stop. We tried going to the nurse, but he wasn't there, so we're stuck like this," we say. She looked confused but eventually said that was fine. "All right everyone, we are going to do a 10-meter dash. You'll go in groups of 5. There will be a prize for the fastest racer. I won't say what it is until there is a winner. When I call your name, line up." She says. When she calls the first 5 people names, everyone else finds a spot to sit and watch. Since Kei is in the first group, I cheered for him but forgot that I and Jordan are speaking in unison,so he cheered too. Kei placed 3rd and Falon, I think that's her name, placed 1st. The second group had Emma and Sal. I was personally rooting for Emma. She got second and Sal got first. Then Xavier went next and got first. Then I went and got first. Then Jordan ran and went first. Three more groups ran and then it was time to determine the winner. We ran in groups of two. Sal and Falon went first. Sal won by a landslide. Xavier and Jaylen went next. Jaylen won. Jordan ran against Kei. Jordan won. Then I went up against a boy named Hayden. I won. Then Xavier went against me. I won. Jordan went against Sal. Jordan won. Finally, it was me against Jordan. "May the best one win." We both say. Surprisingly, half of the class was cheering for me. The other half cheering for Jordan. "3, 2, 1, GO!" We take off running. Jordan was in the lead but I caught up to him. In a mere couple of seconds, the race was over. We ended up tying and did a 20-meter dash. We tied again. "Okay, I'll come up with another tiebreaker. Until then-" "No! We need to declare the winner. We should just run laps around the school and whoever gets tired first loses." We both say. Coach Carri looks out into space like she's considering it. "Gym is almost over. But we can do this after-school. Around 3:30. Sound good?" she says. "Yeah, perfect!" we both say pumping our fists into the air. We change and sit down waiting for the bell to ring. "Why did you need a tie-breaker?" Kei asks. "She can't talk. She and Jordan are speaking in unison for a strange reason and can't stop. It's been happening since lunch." Jaylen says, sitting next to me. Jordan walks over with Xavier. "I know what's happening. Sam told me." Xavier says. "I wonder who's going to win this race?" I overhear someone ask. "My money's on Jordan. I don't think new girl will be able to keep up with going around the school." I start to get up, but Jaylen pulls me back down. "Leave it alone. Their gossipers. You say or do one wrong thing and they spread it like wildfire." he says. I sit back down. The bell rings we go to class. None of my friends have the same class as me after gym so I'm on my own. My next 3 periods go fine but my last period was so embarrassing. For my 9thand final period, I have study hall. I did all my work already, so I was grabbed a book that seemed interesting enough. I was getting up to get the 6th novel when I suddenly yelled, "HAS ANYONE SEEN MY SON?!" Everyone looks at me. "Oh, god Timmy. TIMMY! THE MOTHER'S ADRANLINE IS KICKING IN. I CAN SEE EVER EQUATION! EXCUSE ME MA'AM HAVE YOU SEEN MY SON?! HE'S ABOUT THIS TALL, CLEARLY GAYBUT WE HAVEN'T HAD THE TALK. TIMMY, ARE YOU IN THERE?!" By then, everyone was snickering, and the librarian was shooting me a warning look. I felt the heat crawl up my neck and spread onto my face. I ran out covering my face. "God dammit Jordan!" I yell as I run into the bathroom.
He knows that we are speaking in unison so whatever he says, I say too.
I though angerly. I decide to hide out in the bathroom for the rest of study hall, which I luckily only have 10 mins. After ten minutes had passed, I walked back to grab my stuff. But when I walked in, a group of boys surrounded me.
Warning! Brief mentions of sexual assault
No one else was there so I was on my own. "Why don't you say something else to make us laugh." One of them says. I just stand there, looking at the ground. "Aww, are you scared?~" Other one says. The person who looked like the leader stood right in front of me and moved my head up to look at him. "Look at people who are talking to you." he says. I blush and swat his hand away. I try to look for a way out but can't find one. "Ah ah ah~" The leader says. "You can't go anywhere." He signals the others and they walk away. "Now, where were we?" I back up but just hit a wall. "And where do you think you're going? We aren't finished talking~" he says, his hand resting on my shoulder. His face showed he was tempted to let it slide down further. My body tensed up at the touch and everything screamed at me to get away. No matter how much I willed myself, I couldn't move away.
Someone, help me . . .
