guess what it's 40 degrees againnn

Jimin felt like he was in high school again.

He sat at the table in his favourite coffee shop, notebook in front of him and caramel latte beside it. Jungkook's drumsticks sat snugly in the pouch of his backpack, hidden away but close enough for Jimin to know they were still there.

Why was he carrying them around with him? God, he didn't even know. But every time he looked at them, memories of his encounter with the blue haired male flashed through his mind. This was enough to have him keeping them close by.

He had just never had something like this happen to him before. To be so unapologetically flirted with, but somebody who made him feel weak in the knees. Maybe he was just holding onto the drumsticks to convince himself he hadn't imagined the whole experience.

"Your coffee's gonna get cold if you keep trying to drink it with your eyes." Jimin startled, snapping out of the daze he had been in as he stared at his coffee and thought silently.

He was met with the sight of his favourite barista who worked here, a blonde haired girl named Tzuyu - Taehyung's ex-girlfriend, and one of Jimin's closest high school friends besides his band mates. When they had first met, she played piano and dabbled with the idea of being a keyboardist for their band, but now though she was too caught up in her schooling to peruse that idea any further.

"I was waiting for it to cool down." Jimin answered, reaching forwards and dipping his pointer finger in his latte to test the temperature. It was cold, as she had predicted. Jimin frowned. "But I guess you might be right."

Tzuyu giggled softly, revealing that the arm she had hidden behind her back was holding a freshly made coffee.

"Good thing I made you a fresh one then." She smiled, gently pushing his old coffee out of the way and replacing it with the new one. "However, just silently staring at your drink for twenty minutes is still concerning. So, what's going on with you?"

Jimin sighed softly, thinking for a moment whether for not it would benefit him more to spill his problems out for her, or just keep everything bottled up instead. When he watched her pull out the empty chair at his table and sit down though, Jimin knew that he probably didn't have much of a choice.

"I met a guy." He confessed, resting his head on his hand and watching as Tzuyu's face lit up completely. She leaned forward excitedly, clapping her hands together once and letting out a soft squeal.

"How exciting!" She beamed, clasping her hands together and resting her cheek against them. "Why do you look so down in the dumps then?"

"Because nothing's going to come of it, and I know that." He frowned, watching as the steam dissipated off of his cup of coffee. "He's a drummer in a band that plays a my work pretty often." He elaborated, conjuring up images of the blue haired boy in his mind. "That's the only thing I really know about him, besides his name."

Tzuyu hummed softly, tucking a few pieces of hair behind her ear as she tried to think of what to say.

"Well from what you've told me I'm already not too sure why you've lost hope so quickly." She laughed softly, watching as a confused expression took over Jimin's face. "He's a regular at your work. You're out here acting like you're never going to run into him again!"

Jimin couldn't help but turn red from embarrassment, turning his head to the side and huffing.

"I know that." He frowned. "I just... I don't even know what I would say to him if we met again. I don't even know what I want to come out of this." He reached down, unzipping the backpack that was resting on the floor by his feet. He pulled out Jungkook's drumsticks, setting them on the table in front of Tzuyu. "He gave me these."
