Some of this chapter is copied straight from the script of the Narnia movie.
Y/N POV
We all look down the banks of the river which is breaking into chunks of ice that are floating away on the fast current. A frozen waterfall looms on our left. Peter assesses the situation and holding Lucy's hand starts to make his way down the bank. I grab his arm.
'We need to cross, now!' Peter says.
'Don't beavers make dams?' Lucy asks.
'I'm not that fast, dear.' Mrs Beaver responds.
'Come on!' I shout.
'Wait! Will you just think about this for a minute?' Susan says.
'We don't have a minute.' I say.
'I'm just trying to be realistic.'
'No, you're trying to be smart. As usual.' Peter argues.
We start climbing down. Susan looks like she might stay but the howling of the wolves in the distance changes her mind. Peter puts a foot on the ice and water spurts up from under it. I pull him back.
'Wait. Maybe I should go first..' Mr Beaver offers.
'Maybe you should.' I say.
Mr Beaver tests out the ice with his feet and tail, trying to find the strongest passage.
'You've been sneaking second helpings, haven't you?'
'Well, you never know which meal's gonna be your last. Especially with your cooking.'
We all start to follow Mr Beaver across the ice.
'If Mum knew what we were doing...'
'Mum's not here.'
'Oh, no!' Lucy shouts.
I look up and notice the wolves running across the top of the frozen waterfall to the other side of the river.
'Run!'
'Hurry!'
The wolves leap in front of them us the frozen river. Turning, we are trapped by the rest of the wolves. Mr Beaver tries to threaten on but is pounced on and pinned to the ground.
'No!' Mrs Beaver shouts.
'Peter!' Lucy shouts.
Peter and I draw our swords.
'Put that down, boy. Someone could get hurt.' Maygrim says.
'Don't worry about me! Run him through!' Mr Beaver shouts at me.
'Leave now while you can, and your brother goes with you.'
'Stop, Peter! Maybe we should listen to him!' Susan shouts.
'Smart girl.'
'Don't listen to him, Peter!' I say to him.
'Kill him! Kill him now!' Mr Beaver shouts.
'Oh, come on. This isn't your war. All my Queen wants is for you to take your family and go.'
'Look, just because some man in a red coat hands you a sword, it doesn't make you a hero! Just drop it!'
'No, Peter! Narnia needs ya! Gut him while you still have a chance!'
'What's it gonna be, Son of Adam? I won't wait forever. And neither will the river.'
'Peter!' Lucy says, looking up at the waterfall, horrified.
'Useless! The lot of you!' I yell. I sheath my sword and I grab Peter's from his hands and stab it into the ice. 'Hold on!'
Back on shore, I stand up holding Lucy's coat in my hand, but no Lucy.
'What have you done?' Susan says, running up to me. She slaps me across the face and I fall to the floor. Peter runs up to me and helps me up.
'Lucy! Lucy!'
'Has anyone seen my coat?'
'Don't you worry, dear. Your brother's got you well looked after.' Mr Beaver says.
'And I don't think we'll be needing these coats anymore.' I say.
We all look to see a blossom growing in sped-up style. We leave our coats behind as the wood changes from winter into spring.

Question of the chapter: Do you think that Susan was in the wrong telling Peter to listen to Maugrim and go with him to the White Witch?
