Some of this chapter is copied straight from the script of the Narnia movie.

The next morning, Peter and I emerge from our tents and notice Oreius walking past. He stops and looks behind him. Peter follows his gaze.

Aslan and Edmund are on a rock above camp, deep in conversation but nothing can be heard. Lucy and Susan emerge from their tent and notice Peter. They also turn to see what he is looking at.

'Edmund!' Lucy shouts.

She tries to run towards him. I stop her. Edmund turns at the sound of her voice. Aslan finishes his conversation with Edmund and they both come down towards the others.

'What's done is done. There is no need to speak to Edmund about what is past.' Aslan walks away.

'Hello.' He says.

Lucy hugs him and Susan and I do too. Edmund looks relieved.

'Are you all right?' Susan asks.

'I'm a little tired.'

'Get some sleep. And Edmund...try not to wander off.' Peter says.

Edmund smiles and leaves.

Later on, the four children and I are sitting around a low table eating breakfast. Edmund has changed his clothes and is dressed in a tunic, like Peter. He munches hungrily on toast with honey.

'Narnia's not going to run out of toast, Ed.' Lucy jokes.

'I'm sure they'll pack something up for the journey back.' Peter says looking into the distance.

I look up in shock.

'We're going home?' Susan asks.

'You are. I promised Mum I'd keep you three safe. But it doesn't mean I can't stay behind and help.'

'But they need us. All four of us.' Lucy says.

'Lucy, it's too dangerous. Y/N almost drowned! Edmund was almost killed!' Peter retaliates.

'Which is why we have to stay.' Edmund says. We all look at him.

'I've seen what the White Witch can do. And I've helped her do it. And we can't leave these people behind to suffer for it.'

Lucy holds Ed's hand.

'Well, I suppose that's it then.' Susan says, standing up. I follow.

'Where are you going?' Peters asks

'To get in some practice.'

At the training grounds, Susan and Lucy practice shooting at the target. Susan fires an arrow that hits just off-centre. Lucy takes out her dagger and grins. The dagger hits the bullseye!

Peter and Edmund ride up to us at full gallop. They wheel around and practice sword fighting.

'Come on, Ed! Sword pointed up like Oreius showed us.'

'En garde!'

'Now block.'

'Hey!'

Mr Beaver runs up and Edmund's horse rears.

'Peter! Edmund! Girls!' Mr Beaver shouts.

'Whoa, horsey!' Edmund says.

'My name is Philip.'

'Oh. Sorry.'

'The Witch has demanded a meeting with Aslan. She's on her way here.' Mr Beaver explains.

I run up to Peter on his unicorn.

'Mind giving me a ride?' I ask.

'Of course.' He says blushing.

I grab his arm and fling myself up.

'Jadis, the Queen of Narnia! Empress of the Lone Islands!'

Jadis arrives at the camp on a litter carried by Cyclops. They set her down and she stands up and walks toward Aslan. The whole camp is assembled in front of Aslan's tent. Aslan waits on the little rock plateau.

'You have a traitor in your midst, Aslan.' She begins.

There is a gasp in the crowd.

'His offence was not against you.' Aslan says.

'Oh please. I could not care less about the Son of Adam. I am talking about her!' She says, pointing straight at me.

'You see Aslan, much like the faun Tumnus, Y/N did not abide by my laws when I became Queen. The faun died, so should she.'

'You'll remember well that every traitor belongs to me. Her blood is my property.'

Peter steps in front of me protectively and pulls me behind him, drawing his sword.

'Try and take her then.'

'Do you think that mere force will deny me my right...little King? Aslan knows that unless I have blood, as the law demands all of Narnia will be overturned and perish in fire and water. That girl will die on the Stone Table...as is tradition. You dare not refuse me.'

'Enough. I shall talk with you in my tent. Y/N please accompany me.'

Inside the tent, Aslan tries to negotiate with the Witch to let me go.

The two are arguing when I finally speak up.

'I'll make you a deal Witch. You can take me on one condition, no one else finds out until I am dead. You tell no-one, we tell no-one.'

'Fair enough. I accept.'

We all walk to the tent flap.

The Witch throws open the flaps of the tent. Everyone gets up. She walks back to her seat, pausing to look at Peter. Aslan walks to the edge of the plateau.

'She has renounced her claim on her blood.'

Everyone cheers.

'How will I know your promise will be kept?' The Witch asks.

Aslan roars. The White Witch sits down suddenly in shock and the camp laughs. She leaves everyone celebrating.

Peter notices me standing alone. He looks at me as if asking me if I'm alright.

I look back at him and mouth the words, 'I'm sorry' and walk away
