Chapter 13 - The Battle (Part Three)

Edmund POV

Two griffins dive toward the Witch, who swiftly slashes at one and turns the other into stone. It shatters on a boulder.

"Edmund!" Peter shouts at me. "There's too many! Get out of here! Get the girls and get them home!"

"You heard him! Let's go!" Mr Beaver says. He starts to drag me away. I see the Witch advance toward Peter who is oblivious.

"Peter said get out of here!" Mr Beaver insists.

"Peter's not King yet." I tell him and rush down the hill, jump next to the Witch and bring my sword down on the Witch's wand, smashing it. There is a flash of blue light. Peter turns. I pause and someone yells my name. But before anything happens I'm pushed to the side by someone. I look back up and see Y/N, with the Witch's wand right through her stomach.

Y/N POV

I see Edmund being pulled away by Mr Beaver and I start running toward Peter.

Good, Peter used his brain and is sending Ed to safety.

Then suddenly he stops. And runs straight for the Witch.

I watch as I run toward him, screaming his name.

He cuts his sword through the Witch's wand as I reach him and push him out of the way.

The Witch sees me and stabs me.

I hear someone yell my name before my vision goes black.

Peter POV

"Edmund!" I shout. "There's too many! Get out of here! Get the girls and get them home!"

"You heard him! Let's go!" Mr Beaver says. He starts to drag Edmund away. I see the Witch advance toward me out of the corner of my eye.

There is a flash of blue light. I turn. Ed stops and someone yells his name. I look up.

Y/N. But how? Oh well, I'll worry about that later.

But before anything happens Y/N pushes Ed to the side.

I look at Y/N, with the Witch's wand right through her stomach.

No, not again. Please no, I just got her back.

I don't even realise I'm yelling until I hear my own voice.

"Y/N!"

She collapses and lies still. I see red.

I charge angrily at the Witch and we fight.

The Witch and I pause when they hear Aslan's roar from the top of a cliff.

I turn back to her with newfound hope and continue to fight. Aslan, and our army, rush to join the battle. The Witch trips me and pins me to the ground with one of her swords through my chain mail. She stands over me about the deliver the death blow and looks up, Aslan leaps at her and pins her to the ground. I stand, holding my sword, ready to continue fighting.

"It is finished." Aslan tells me.

I relax.

Lucy, Ed and Susan run up to me.

"Peter!"

"Where's Y/N?" Susan asks. I stop.

We run off.

Ginarrbrik hobbles up and is about to finish Y/N. I run to her, not caring about the dangers.

"Y/N!" Susan yells from behind me firing an arrow and killing the dwarf.

I put Y/N's head in my lap and look down at her. She coughs and gasps. Lucy pulls out her cordial and places one drop on her lips. My eyes fill with tears, and she stops moving.

I panic momentarily before Y/N gasps and opens her eyes. I pull her into a hug and press her face into my chest, crying before letting go and holding onto her.

"When are you gonna learn to stop dying?" We all laugh and embrace Y/N, who notices Aslan.

The others and I turn and see Aslan breathe on a stone satyr, bringing it back to life. Lucy looks at her cordial and then runs off to heal others.
