~ Chapter One ~

Sakura's POV:

With every step I took, breathing became harder and harder. I was recently reinstated into team 7 to join Captain Yamato, Naruto, and Sai on a 'rescue' mission to get Sasuke back.

The problem with that; is that Captain Yamato, Naruto, and I found a bingo book that Sai was carrying. His next target to eliminate is none other than Uchiha Sasuke. A few minutes ago the three of us heard an explosion. As we made our way towards it, we could see Sai standing where the explosion took place. That part of the hideout had been blown apart and it was now exposed to the outside world. Sai stood there looking up at something or someone.

Naruto couldn't move and Captain Yamato was trying to calm him down. I gathered all the strength in me and ran towards Sai. I was really upset. Sai was assigned into our team about two years ago, a year after Sasuke left the village. He can be a little challenging to understand, but we were doing our best. Throughout the years he learned that Sasuke is Naruto's best friend. Our main mission is to bring him back to the village, and yet he went behind our backs all these years with a single goal in mind. To kill Uchiha Sasuke.

With every step towards him, breathing became harder and harder to do. I could hear my heart beating in my ears, and the sound blocked off everything else. Why was I so nervous ? I came to peace with my feelings and the way I viewed Sasuke.

Once I got closer to Sai I felt a wave of anger and betrayal rush through me. For a few minutes, I completely forgot about Sasuke. The betrayal I felt from Sai was like no other.

I ran and ran and finally, I came rushing into him.

I grabbed him by his collar " You idiot ! How could you ?! " I screamed at him as my anger was getting the best of me. He held on to my hands " Wait- .. Sakura calm down. I can explain ! " he said to me as he tried to calm me down.

" No ! I have made it clear to you that although the Uchiha means nothing to me, I was still going to go out my way to bring him back if it meant Naruto would finally be happy. I made it clear to you that Naruto's well being is our MAIN priority, and yet here we are after we found your damn bingo book ! " I screamed at him as I threw his bingo book in his face.

" Sakura calm down " he said to me as he tried to hold on to me. " Don't tell me to calm down you really-"

" Sakura.. "

My eyes widened. At that moment right there and then my anger towards Sai disappeared. I looked up to meet one of the most handsome guys I have ever met. It's been three years since I last saw him, and yet his good looks seemed to have matured nicely as he turned into a young man.

I didn't know what say or do. His mire presence completely paralyzed me, and his gaze as he looked down on us was suffocating me.
