After parting ways from Polly, Ada, her son, and Starlene all made a pit stop to Ada's hole in the wall, as Polly would call it, flat.

"Ada, why are you changing into all black again?" Starlene asked making sure she heard her cousins outrageous plan correctly.

"Cos, I'm gonna march in between those groups of men and get them to fucking think for a second. So, i'm dressing in black for their funeral. They all wanna get themselves killed, fine but i'm gonna say my peace first."

"You really think marching yourself and both Karl and I into the line of fire between our family and our enemies is a good idea? What if the coppers show up and ambush all of them?" Starlene stared at her cousin in disbelief. If Polly were here she would be giving the Shelby girl a mouthful.

"First off, if them coppers wanted to intervene, they would've already. Yet, no one seen 'em all day. Second, you aren't coming. Polly would beat my ass if I had you out there with me. You're going to the school to hide out and once everything's done, I'll send one of the boys for ya." Ada put the black veil over her face and made sure she had everything.

Starlene leapt off the bed she was sitting on, "Mum said we had to stay together! Plus, she's going to beat ya ass if she finds out you're putting the baby in danger, let alone yourself! Have you lost your head, Ada? You could be shot, Karl could be shot, let alone killed! We're staying put, like mum said to do."

"I'm doing this to protect Freddie, to protect our family! I finally have the chance to have my family together Star, to have my Freddie back! They won't shoot at a baby, they're animals but they aren't heartless! Maybe this will get them to think straight. Have you thought about that?"

"I need to do this and your only a child! You need to let me do this and in fact," Ada picked Karl up off the bed near where Starlene was sitting and put him in the stroller.

"I don't need your permission. You were left to me by Pol and I'm telling you to head off to the school where it's safe. Now, i'm heading out to stop the boys and you need to get going too." Ada began to walk towards the door of her home.

Starlene stayed put where she was at, "And-And what if something happens, Ada? What if something happens. I have a bad feeling-"

Ada stopped and turned on her heel to face her young cousin, "Everything will be fine, Star. One of the boys will come get you when it's safe. We'll all be partying at the Garrison before ya know it. Now get going."

"Mum says i'm not allowed to go anywhere alone, especially after what happened with the coppers." Starlene mumbled as she walked behind her cousin.

"Pol is overprotective at times. The coppers have barely been around, you'll be fine. You're 12 years old, you can handle ya self. It's just a quick run to the school. You'll be fine." Ada gave a smile to her cousin and together they carried the stroller carefully up the stairs.

"I'll see you soon, Star." Ada quickly said before heading off on her questionable, in Starlene's eyes, mission to stop the boys.

Starlene was frozen in her spot. She was scared to be on her own. The Garrison wasn't too far away to where she could head over there, but her mother was dealing with Grace and she didn't want to get in trouble. All she had to do was get to the school. It wasn't that far, it really wasn't but with all the trouble going on it could be a more dangerous situation. No, Ada was right, she's old enough to handle herself. With some confidence she mustered up the young Gray girl took off for the school like her life depended on it.

Outside, Tara was hanging around the school. She was playing with some friends but they all were about to part ways when they heard the Peaky Blinders were battling it off with Kimber's men. As Tara was about to run along home after saying her farewell's she saw Starlene running frantically in her direction. Her face lit up to see the Gray girl but quickly shifted to fear when she saw a car come around the corner from one the streets and speed up directly behind the brunette.
