"WHY DO I NEED TO COME WITH YOU GUYS?" Cassie asked Mike, her face contorting in confusion. Every single time these boys approached her in a state of panic, it was never for anything good. For this reason, Cassie always found herself prepared for the worst.

"You need to come help us talk to Eddie," Mike quickly answered. "We will explain later."

"Eddie?" Cassie questioned once more. "Eddie who?"

"Oh, come on, you know Eddie," Dustin cut in, turning to Mike. "They've met before, haven't they met before?"

"Never mind if they've met before," Mike brushed off, turning to meet Dustin's gaze. "The point is, she's our backup plan if things go south."

"Excuse me, backup plan?" Cassie asked, snapping her fingers in front of their faces. "You guys, look at me, what the hell is going on?"

Simultaneously, their eyes moved over to Cassie, who stood completely dumbfounded before them. Without another word, Mike quickly grabbed the girl's hand and began to race towards the cafeteria. After a moment of trying to fight his grasp, the girl sighed and gave up, allowing Mike to lead her wherever they wanted her to go.

Once they arrived at their destination, Mike let go of Cassie's hand, allowing her to examine the lunch table they were now standing next to. There, just before her, sat a group of miscellaneous teenagers, all wearing Hellfire shirts that identically matched Dustin's and Mike's.

Rubbing her wrist, Cassie turned to her boyfriend and spoke through her teeth, "Mike, I love you, but if you ever pull that shit again, it'll be the last thing you do."

"I'm sorry, Cassie," Mike apologized. "It was urgent."

"Yeah, I can see that," The girl trailed off sarcastically, her eyes scanning the table once more. "Mike, Dustin, what the hell am I doing here?"

"Just sit down," Dustin ushered her, patting a seat between him and Mike.

"Um...okay."

After taking a seat between them, Cassie watched as the boy seated at the end of the table suddenly jumped on top of it. Turning to Mike, she leaned in and whispered, "Let me guess...this is Eddie?"

Mike nodded in response.

"Society has to blame something, and we're an easy target," Eddie began, walking across the table and he spoke loudly to the entire cafeteria. "We're the freaks, because we like to play a fantasy game. But, as long as you're into band, or science...or parties, or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets!"

"You want something, freak?" Jason called from the other side of the cafeteria.

"It's forced conforming, and that's what's killing the kids!" Eddie shouts, jumping back down onto the floor. "That's the real monster."
