Chapter 9

Emma:

Morning came and all I wanted to do was sleep. I had last watch so I have been up for a while and I knew Luke barely slept but we couldn't have the luxury of sleep right now. I get down from the roof to see Travis taking out the rug. I head inside the house and get a cup of coffee. Then I heard it. Multiple footsteps eacing towards me.
"Mommy!" They yelled hugging me
"Morning babies. Are y'all all washed up?" I asked
"Yes, mom/mommy" Cameron and the girls told me
"Okay, well how about I make breakfast, yeah?" I said
"Yeah. I want eggs and bacon." Vanessa said with the others agreeing.
"Okay, then why don't y'all go play in the room and I'll come get y'all later." I told them as they ran off.

As I cook breakfast I see Daniel teaching Chris about a gun. As I finished cooking Travis comes inside and see Chris. I already know he's about to get all mad.
As Chris leaves I call the kids to eat and they sit down around the kitchen table.
I start heading towards the dining-room  to hear what's happening.
"The more the boy knows, the safer he'll be." Daniel said
"Uh-huh" Travis said shaking his head.
"I didn't see the harm, Trav" Mom said
"You know how I feel about guns." He told her
"The gun doesn't care how you feel." Daniel said
"That's enough." Travis said

"Travis, I don't see the issue with Chris knowing how to use a gun." I said
"Emma, please stay out of this. This is my son. If I don't want him to know, that's final." He told me
"I'm just saying it would bw beneficial if he knew how to use a gun or at a knife." I said
"Emma, would you let your kids use a knife or gun?" He asked me
"Yes, I would. Luke and I have been teaching Cameron how to use a knife, now the girls don't cause there young, but Cameron knows that right now he needs protection." I said
"Well, that's your kid, this is mine." He said
"Are you ready to go." He asked mom and I
"Cars are loaded / Yes we are." We told him

I went towards the kids to see all there plates empty. One by one I got the kids off the table and had them pack whatever things they took. We finally made it to the cars.
"Ready?" Luke asked me
"Yep." I said after I put all the kids in there seats.
Mom, Nick, and Alicia were in one car, while Travis, Liza, and Chris were in the truck. Luke starts the car and pulls out and the others follow. As we start driving I look through the mirror to see mom turn around.
"Luke, make a U-turn." I told him
He turns around and stops the car. I get down and tell the kids to wait here with Luke. I run to the back with my gun to see Deas Susan about to bite Patrick. Before I could take the shot though another rang out, killing her.

Out of nowhere a bunch of soldiers came running out and try taking my gun. I have never been more happy to have dog tags.
"Stand down!" I ordered showing my tags
"Yes mam" the soldier sad releasing my family and I.

We move to the front where a soldier is questioning us.
"How many occupants?" She asked
"Um, fifteen- fifeteen altogether." Travis said
"Big family." She said
"How far is the radius that you have made." I asked
"We have a 5 block radius, mam." She told me.
"Okay, well then put 5 down for house 551 Rose street. That's where my family lives. We shall be moving back." I told her
"Yes, mam." She said doing what I told her
"Mam, I will be need names of everyone? I got Travis Manawa, Madison Clarke, Luke Hobbs, and Emma Hobbs." She said
"Um, Nicholas Clarke, Alicia Clarke. Elizabeth Ortiz, Christopher Manawa. Daniel Salazar, Griselda Salazar, and Ophelia Salazar." Travis said
"And for me Cameron Hobbs, Vanessa Hobbs, Veronica Hobbs, and Olivia Hobbs." I told her
"Okay, make sure your family stays inside." She said

I start walking to Luke to see he is talking to a soldier. He starts walking towards me.
"Did they tell you about the 5 block radius?" I asked
"Yeah, we going back home?" He asked
"Yes, we are. We can't stay here especially with all these people. Let's just keep all the stuff packed in case we need to leave and we have plenty of stuff inside the house still for the kids to play with." I told him
"Okay. Then I'm going to go talk to some other soldiers. It's a good thing we have dog tags." He said walking away
I went towards the kids to see them sitting in the car.
"You want to watch a movie?" I asked them
"Mom, I though power was cut off." Cameron said
"It was but your mommy is super smart and can get the power on in the car for wifi to work." I told him getting to work on the power. After a few minutes I got it to work and the mini tvs to turn on. I handed them each headphones and let them pick a movie, while giving them a snack.

"Hey mom. Luke and I are going back to our house. It'll be less crowded now that were gone." I said
"Are you sure honey?" She asked
"Yeah, plus Luke and I can protect ourselves. Well come everyday to see y'all. We're only 2 blocks down." I told her as I see Luke walking yo the car.
"Okay, well anyway we're gonna go." I said hugging her
"Alicia! You want to come with us." I asked
"Yes. Let me just get my bag." She said
"Bring your laptop and phone. I'll get it working for you." I said
"Is that okay with you, mom?" I asked
"Yeah, that's fine. She's always liked it more at your house then ours." She said
"Just watch out for her." She added
"I will." Giving her one last hug

We soon pulled out of the driveway and headed home.
