It happened on a cold windy night, the grey clouds in the sky covered the night stars. The new moon that was too dark for anyone to see, created changes in the ocean tides at sea. The waves now violently hit the rocks below the hill of the castle that stood high above. The bright sun that shined directly on the back side of the new moon that night, was the calmness in the storm that was brought upon the Sun Kingdom that very night.
A baby girl by the name of So was born that night, with golden blonde hair and tan skin. The kingdom celebrated that night, all expect the king and queen who hid a secret about their baby girl. For- she had two colored eyes, one eye was the same as all the sun kingdom's royal ancestors. The color of yellow, that shined ever so bright, representing the burning sun. But Sol's other eye was sapphire blue, the color of the moon that appeared that very night.
Behind the white brick castle lied the kingdom's town, scattered throughout the grassy hills for hundreds of miles. There were lakes flowing through the town, along with yellow flowers that blossomed year round. The villagers always in high spirit, for the Sun Kingdom was the properest kingdom known throughout the land. But, far beyond the castle and the villager's town lied a strange forest that no man has dared to enter. For there has been rumors of people who travel through this foggy forest, only to never return.
On the same night deep in the forest, another baby was born. With dark midnight blue hair and pale skin, and the same two colored eyes. No one celebrated this child's birth, for her mother lied still that night - never to move again. Banished in the forest she lived in, never to see a day of sunlight, for she was the born to a women known as Luna, who was banished and cursed by the sun goddess, Sol's mother. That night her daughter was named Neoma and was raised by elves of the forest whom her mother lived with since she was a child.
Back at the castle, Queen Krya and King Apollo were torn on what to do with their cursed child. The queen never thought what the women she had banished many years ago had said to her, would actually occur.———-
When Kyra was a princess, she stumbled upon a house right outside of the dark forest while she had been riding her horse that day. Krya was at the age of twelve at the same when she knocked on the brown wooden house, a choice that would change the fate of her life forever. A girl around the same age answered the door, leaving Krya stunned as to what she was looking at. A beautiful girl, with black eyes that resembled pure darkness and long dark grey hair.
After this day, Krya visited Luna every day for many year, until one night. Krya fled back to the castle claiming she had seen a witch that lived right outside the same forest the people of the Sun Kingdom were banned from entering. The word got around the town, people claiming this child was a witch or devil that was sent to destroy the Sun kingdom. The royal family banned Luna to the forest and even though Luna was being shunned in front of the whole kingdom, she was rather calm, making Krya more furious than before.
Which caused Krya to place a curse on her - a curse than banned Luna from seeing daylight ever again and if Luna were to bare a child, she would not live another day. Luna smiled at Krya saying 'As for you, your child will be born with a shade of the moon, being drawn to the one I bare."
————"That wretched women" Queen Krya said while holding her child as she sat on the bed of her chamber, "Why does this beautiful child have to have such an ugly eye"
"Shall we rip it out?" The king reached for the baby girl his wife was holding in her arm."Don't you dare place a hand on her" Queen Krya stood up, "We will cover her eye so no one will ever see."
And since that night, Sol wore a white eyepatch that her long golden hair covered up. The queen never let her out of the walls of the castle, telling Sol she could never show anyone the eye she covered up. Queen Krya had also told her daughter that a witch of the night had cursed her because she was envious of Krya's beauty, being born to the God of Sun.
- A little white lie that would lead to the downfall of the Sun Family and the rise of a new kingdom. -
The queen raised Sol just as the ancestors of the Sun Kingdom had raised their children, based off of perfection. Beauty was everything to the royal family, along with their money and riches. Raised on a strict upbringing, Sol only was allowed to leave her room if called by her parents. Her mother was nervous- if Sol ever were to see the moon, the last part of the curse that the witch made upon her would come true. Even though the Queen did not know if the witch, Luna, ever had a child, she still locked Sol down below the castle grounds at night so the princess could never see the moon. In hopes that the princess would never meet the child or find out the truth about her eye. - For there was far more to the story between Queen Krya and Luna than told.
The princess's sixteenth birthday was coming up, the castle and the village that sat on the same hill would be throwing a celebration in honor of this day. Sol had grown into the young lady her mother taught her to be, well sort of. When around her mother, Sol was the sophisticated, responsible, royal princess - but what the queen did not see was Sol's real personality. She was rather on the rambunctious side; always stealing bread from the kitchen that she was told only the servants were to be in, playing with the servant's children in front of the castle courtyard which was surrounded by a brick gate to keep the town folks from seeing in, and the princess would never speak properly when others would address her. But even though she was never the proper young lady when the king and queen were not around, she was loved by everyone who served her. Sol treated the servants as her friends and was kind and confident. - A quality no other princess before had.
But do not fret, for the queen was not the cruel and un loving mother as she may have come off to be. She was rather a lovely lady who had been brought up to be the queen of the Sun Kingdom, pressured to live the same way as her mother did. Even though Sol was raised the same way, she was different than the other queens before, or rather- she was the one who was brave enough to do what her mother could not.
