The Beginning

I woke up to my alarm, I didn't wanna get up and go to school but it was gonna be spring break so might as well. I slowly rolled out of bed and turned off my alarm, I got ready and heard Harrington outside I slipped on my converse and ran out.

"You came outside today" he spoke as I got in the back, 

"Yeah I thought why not?" I said as I buckled my seat belt.

we drove in silence until we picked up Robin. "Oh hi Y/N, what a nice surprise"

"hey Robin" I said moving my focus from the window to her and back to the window.

They talked as we drove to school and once we got there we where directed to the pep-rally, I sat next to Harrington and picked a spot where we could see Robin the best. The rally went by fast and before I new it, it was lunch. 

I sat down at with Robin and Steve "where is everyone?"

"Nancy is working on the school paper, Max is with the counselor, Lucas is with his basketball buddies, and Mike and Dustin are with their 'Hellfire' group" Steve said eating the nasty school food.

"I don't understand why they hangout with those douche-bags" I said turning to look at Mike and Dustin. I made eye contact with there 'game master'. He was on top of the table talking to his friends.  

"I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks they're weird." Harrington spoke.

It was the end of 7th hour and I was walking to Steve's car to go to work when Mike stopped me. 

"Y/N, Y/N!" he said panting

"What?" I said turning around to face him

"Can you fill in for Lucas tonight at hellfire?" he said hands on his knees. 

"Why can't Lucas do it?" I said 

"because, he has championships tonight at the same time and we need someone to cover his spot" he said finally catching his breath.

I rolled my eyes, "fine, but only this once, can Dustin's mom pick me up too?" I said starting to walk away.

"Yeah, we will be at the video store about 6?" he said walking with me

"Okay see ya then" I said hearing Harrington honk at me to get in the car.

I ran to his car and we drove off to work, when we got there Robin was talking about this girl she likes the whole time. "hey guys i'm gonna leave about 6, you guys think you have the rest of the night handled?" I said reading my book.

"Yeah, where are you going?" Robin asked

"hellfire" I said looking up. "What? I said I would cover for Lucas tonight, its not that big of a deal"

"If you get kidnapped" Steve threw his hands in the air

"I wont" I said looking out the window, "look, there's my ride bye!" I yelled as i ran out the door.

I got in the car "Hi dear" Dustin's mom said looking at me from the review mirror.

"HI Mrs. Henderson" i smiled. 

as we rode we all exchanged characters, we pulled into the parking lot "Okay be safe kids" Mrs. Henderson said as we got out. We walked inside and into the room we are playing in.

"Did you find a sub munsters?" Eddie said looking at me as I walked inside the room

"As a matter of fact they did" I said looking at him.

"What is a girl like you gonna play?" he said standing up.

"I'm a level 76 witch, I make potions and grow crystals that slowly kill my victim from the inside out, I watch in enjoyment as they die from their most feared pain." I said as he got closer to my face.

"welcome to hell fire" he said

I took a seat and we begun, we where losing and we needed to take a time out. We huddled and talked about whether we need to back down or not. 

Dustin and I are the only ones left alive in the game. "Well, its ultimately your guys choice what we should do" Mike said.

"There's no shame in running, don't try to be heroes. Not today." Eddie said leaning back in is chair.

"Oh we are gonna try" I said Pissed now. "Dustin you roll first"

He grabbed the dice and rolled a 16 "Damn it!" he yelled the others making just as much noise.

I grabbed the Dice and took my time rolling. when I finally let go I watched in anticipation. I rolled a 20, the exact number we needed to win. we all screamed as I saw Eddie's surprised look.

I packed up and just as I was about to walk out side with Dustin, when I was stopped.

"Hey, you did really good tonight." Eddie said looking at the ground with his hand on the back of his neck. 

"Thanks, you held a pretty good campaign." I said gathering my things.

"Y/N! come on my mom is here" Dustin yelled.

"I'll see you around Eddie" I said. I got in the car and watched Chrissy walk up to Eddie. I didn't know they were friends. I didn't think much about it till I got home.

"Thank you so much Mrs. Henderson, I really appreciate it" I said closing the car door.

I went to bed and all that was on my mind was Chrissy and Eddie. Chrissy the cheerleader and Eddie the weirdo? It didn't make sense. I eventually fell asleep just to wake up for work again the next mourning. When I got to the Video store I saw Harrington and Robin watching the news. 

"Whats on?" I asked setting my bag on the floor. 

"A Hawkins student was murdered last night." Robin said glancing back at me.  

"Who?" I looked up concerned 

"We don't know, But it was down by the Trailer park" Harrington said switching off the TV.

"Strange." I said
