Tony's Pov:

"Valia." Dr. Lane said and was pale.

"What?" Valia asked walking over.

"It's...it's part arachnie." Dr. Lane said and Stephen froze.

"What...species?" Stephen asked.

"Funnel web..." Dr. Lane said and my mates were tense...What?

"Anthony...this..." Loki frowned.

"What?" I asked.

"You have one of the most deadly arachnie there is...and arachnie are extinct..." Valia said.

"Cause we killed them...they were to dangerous." Stephen said and looked at Peter...

"Stephen I swear to god if you hurt that child." I snarled.

"What do we do?" Loki asked.

"Well...it seems to be mostly mer...it can't even make webs so I don't think it'll be that dangerous." Dr. Lane said.

"The good thing is it has you all...which would be better as a dragon, a god, and a mer raising it should be far better than a bunch of humans." Lane said and I kept hovering...Loki tensed suddenly.

"It made a family bond with me as well..." Loki said looking at Peter.

"Seems it's very fond of your mer then." Valia said.

"Speaking of...I'd like to check on you today." Lane said looking at me through the glass...Ah ok. I looked at Peter. "You can take him back after were done in there...You two can tag along." Lane said looking at my mates.

"Probably a good idea...we're not leaving Peter." Loki said and I purred happy my mates had accepted Peter. I met Lane in the room and relaxed in the pond as he did some tests and checked on me.

"How is he?" Stephen asked looking worried.

"The baby is developing very fast." Lane frowned.

"How fast?" Loki asked.

"Going of my estimates Tony will have it in 3 months..." Lane said.

"That fast!?" Stephen choked.

"Yes..." Lane said.

"Is that bad?" I asked.

"Well...your healthy and it's getting all the nutrients it needs..." Lane frowned. "But I worry it'll put a lot of stress on your organs as it gets bigger." He said and Loki moved handing me Peter making me purr...Hi Pete.

"So...this might end...badly?" Loki asked.

"We'll do everything in our power to make sure they both get through this ok." Lane said and Stephen growled.

"You mean you'll save the baby before you save Anthony." Stephen growled and I froze...

"No...no we won't risk that...Tony is very important." Lane said.

"As a breeding tool." Stephen growled eyes going gold.

"Steph, calm down...they're doing the best they can." I said.

"I swear to you if I don't think he'll make it I will terminate it." Lane said and I paled...Like hell you will!

"No!" I snarled.

"Anthony." Loki said.

"No I feel it...I feel it's emotions and..." I trailed off.

"A lot of people don't realize this but...it won't feel anything...it's painless...we just suck it out and then scrape out any left overs cause we don't want it trying to form anything but it also depends on far along you are...The baby may even survive better on it's own at a certain point." Lane said.

"But..." I frowned.

"Technology is coming a long way and we are not monsters...we are actually looking into ways now where we can even make an artificial womb so if something bad happens that starts putting the mother at risk we might be able to transfer it." Lane said.

"I feel it." I said.

"I know...I know but ask yourself...do you think it'd want to lose it's mother? If you had to pick between your mother and yourself to die who would you pick?" He asked.

"Me." I said... "Ok...I get what you are saying..." I said.

"Not all mothers are great though but you'll be a great parent Tony and now you have Peter...Peter needs you." Lane said and I looked at Peter in my arms as he held his tail.

"You know a lot about babies..." Stephen said.

"I do." Lane said.

"I am curious...when do they become conscious?" Loki asked.

"In a human it's normally between the 24th and 28th week of gestation." Lane said.

"Fascinating..." Loki said.

"A lot of people are against abortion which I can fully understand why but when it comes to the life of the mother then our priority should really be them in my opinion." Lane said and Valia snorted.

"You're not a mother." Valia said.

"That's true but it's my opinion." Lane said.

"A mother's body is hers...she has ever right to get tattoos, piercings, get rid of her boobs, get fixed, and to have abortions...It's not our bodies and not our jobs to dictate what they do with theirs." Valia said.

"I can agree with that...every being that conscious and can understand should have the right to themselves." Lane said.

"That's what I tell Jarvis." I said and they looked at me. "I know he's an AI but I never want to force anything on him...I used to mute him a lot...I stopped doing that because I realized that'd be like taking someone's voice away..." I said.

"It's...a machine." Lane said.

"So?" I asked.

"It doesn't feel." He said...

"They do...They just don't feel like we do...a lot of people also don't realize that bots are AIs...some more than others...they all have feelings...they do have a deep understanding of things...they use us to learn Empathy. We teach them..." I said and smiled at Peter. "They're just like children...they learn from us." I said.

"Well this was a lovely conversation but you should probably go rest, dear." Loki said...right.

"I'll meet you back at our room." I said and my mates nodded...I left them and swam...Peter squirmed and I let go...I blinked as he wiggled trying to swim...aw. I smiled watching him and then swam around him so he could see...He tried imitating, but he's not built up the strength. I swam and hovered under him...I let him swim a while on his own before picking him up again...you'll get it.

Stephen's Pov:

"It's been a month here..." I said.

"Yes and he's doing fine, dear." Loki said.

"I know but..." I swallowed...Anthony had seemed a little slower...a little worn out.

"He's healthy...Lane says he's doing fantastic for as fast as he is moving along." Loki said.

"I know but...this is when we need to worry." I said.

"Stephen...they won't let Anthony die." Loki said.

"How can you be so sure? They wanted to save my species...and now Peter is here so they have a new mer." I said and Loki froze...I saw him slowly realizing...yeah.

"Oh..." He frowned.

"Anthony is expendable to them now..." I said.

"Stephen...they seem to genuinely like Anthony...you saw how him and Lane were talking last time...they were enjoying each others company." Loki said and I swallowed. "You need to trust them." He said.

"Easier said then done." I frowned.
