Cross Worlds (Hiatus)

Chapter 26-2

He has never beaten Kenji in a fight, not once. However, the last time they fought was months ago, before he met Riku. "Riku trained me almost every single day. I'm not going to let him down."

"Watch what you say about our headmaster. He saved you from your miserable life, didn't he?" Kenji glares at Yujita, grabbing another pair of pawns as the juice from the four pawns he was already using runs out side by side.

"Saved me..? You really think my life has gotten any better..?! I'm bullied day in and day out by the people who are above me in this god forsaken place, not to mention the regular residents who bully me when I can't even fight back because we can't reveal our abilities to normal humans. I had no friends, nothing to look forward to every single day, and just wishing I were fucking dead all the time?!" Yujita's magic bursts around him as he lunges at Kenji. "You may get special treatment because you were delivered by that man and have an amazing ability, but people like me?! The only reason Hiroshi's kept me around is to have another magical tool to use at his disposal, just like he's using you! So don't talk like you fucking know me you piece of garbage!"

Kenji's pawns activate their respective abilities, and a black, almost transparent figure of a knight appears in front of him, guarding him with his body. "Watch your tone, or I might end up beating your ass worse than Hiroshi just did a little while ago." Yujita quickly jumps back as Kenji swings a blade made out of darkness at him, cutting through the image black knight. "Me? Being used? That's cute. You really think I'm being used?!" Kenji lunges at Yujita, swinging his blade once again and Yujita swings as well, clashing with him.

"I don't think, I know." Yujita states as a matter of factly. "After all, you just attacked the brother that you had never gotten to meet before, following Hiroshi's orders to attempt to strike him down like the dog you are. If I knew any better, it seems like you care more about Hiroshi than you do your own family."

Those words visibly make Kenji snap, Kenji's entire body glowing dark purple. "Don't you dare talk like you know me you damned orphan with no one to call family!" As Kenji roars, the purple energy around him expands outward, creating a spherical barrier of sorts that forces Yujita back.

"Considering Riku is more like a brother to me than anyone here has ever been, I'd think I have more of a family than you do right now!" Yujita easily catches himself and runs right back to Kenji, stabbing his sword through his barrier and breaking through it with ease.

"You know, I was thinking about how ironic it was that I'd be facing the special little 'Shroud Ninja' with the dark abilities my pawns had given me this time around." A small army of black, nearly transparent warriors forms around Kenji, all of them wielding spears, swords, axes, bows, etc while being equipped with quite sturdy armor. Kenji himself becomes encased in his own set of black armor, and stares Yujita down with a dark look in his eyes, aiming his blade at him. "Now I only find it funny that I'm going to kill him with them. I won't even need any other chess pieces."

"Well now you're just getting cocky." Yujita takes a step forward and all of Kenji's undead warriors aim their weapons at him. Yujita's shroud ability spreads in a circle and covers the entirety of the floor around them. Kenji clicks his tongue in annoyance as he has to jump in the air to avoid being impaled by Yujita's dark spikes, his knights not being so lucky. "You plan to kill me with abilities that are weaker than my own, and that you've only had for the past 30 seconds, when I've had this ability since I was eight. That's cute, Kenji." Yujita smiles at him, giving him a cold look that's quite similar to the one Riku had given him earlier. "If I didn't care about the fact that you were Riku's actual brother, I probably would've killed you by now."

Kenji smirks wildly as he stabs his sword into the wall to keep from falling into Yujita's zone, the dark energy coming from his body quite intense this time around. "Is that right..?"
