It has been years since I last saw Hades and Pan.
George and I bought a farm to live on with the kids. We were very self sufficient since people will notice that I do not age, I do alter my appearances if I have to go in to town, but my heart has been heavy. George will die one day and leave me and my kids behind. The agony is beginning to haunt my very being.
I didn't tell George about this, because I do not want him to worry about me.
"Steff my love, where is your mind wondering off to?" George asked as he embraced me from behind. My whole body relaxed. He always had this effect on me.
"Oh just thinking that I haven't seen Pan or Hades since that day."
"No offence Dear, but I'd like to avoid Hades at all cost." I laughed, "Understandably so."
"I need to go into town, do you need something?" He asked.
"Maybe that cookies I like so much?" He chucked and softly kissed my lips.
"Yes dear."

The kids were finally down for a nap and I took this moment to go work in the garden.
"Don't you all look lovely?" I talked to the plants. I got my scissors ready and started to trim the flowers.
After a while I moved on the the crops. I frowned. The pumpkins are suffering.
With a soft whisper I healed it. I haven't use my magic in a long time.
"Finally found you." My body froze.
"My dear Persephone." The voice broke and I slowly turned around.to face my mother.
"Mother."
"It's time to come home, we've played this hide-and-seek long enough." She opened her arms, but I only took a step backwards.
"No mother, I'm not going back. This is my new home and I am happy here. Please let me live my life."
I could see how my mother's anger was taking over.
"How?! How can you be happy here?" She screamed and the wind started to pick up.
"Was I that bad of a mother!? I don't know what I did to you to make you like this!" There she goes, trying to let me feel guilty.
"Yes! Who forces their own daughter to het married just so you could gain more influence? Did you honestly think Hades wouldn't have figured it out? And then what would have happened to me? He would have locked me up in the deepest part of Tartarus and tortured me and you! But no you couldn't think that far, could you? Blinded by your own ambitions instead of asking what I wanted!" I yelled it all out. Tears were leaving my eyes as my mother stood there in shock.
I had never spoken like that to her ever. I have always been obedient with no mind of my own, but that has changed since I met George.
"I..."
"Momma, Damian is waking up." My half asleep daughter, Melissa, my seven year old daughter, says. Unaware of the tension in the air and an intruder.
"You, you have kids?"
I ignored my mother and went with Melissa.
"Hey sweety, are you hungry?" I coed at Damian while picking him up. He was one now and the spitting image of George.
"Mama food." He babbled and I smiled.
"Let's get you food." I tuned my mother out completely who was just staring at me interacting with Melissa and Damian.

Melissa couldn't help but stare it the woman and she also noticed that her mommy was tense. She wondered who this woman was.
"Oky now Mommy needs you to play in your room and look after Damian alright." Her mommy asked when they finished eating.
"Yes Mommy."

I went back to my mother who was staring at an empty space.
"Please leave." I said with more authority.
"You have kids."
"I do."
"And the fathers?"
I boiled, "No, just one father."
"Persephone I..."
"We're home!" George yelled and I closed my eyes. This was the worst time for him to arrive home with the kids.
"Momma we got you cookies!" Arie yelled in joy as he rushed into the kitchen but froze when he saw someone he doesn't know.
Soon George was in view with Calista, James and Avgi.
"Honey what is the..." But stopped when he saw my mother.
"Oh hello, I was unaware we had company, I'm George." He smiled and stretched out his hand to her, completely unaware of the tension.
I stood guard, ready to attack if my mother just moved wrong.
Instead she looked at me, he soft look overtook her, a look I have never seen on her before. She held her hands behind her back and smiled.
"Nice to meet you George, I'm Steff's mother."
George paled and looked at me then back at her. "Uhm it's nice to meet you Demeter."
My mother looked at me, "He knows?"
I nod but stayed guarded.
"I see." There was silence for a moment and then she disappeared.
I fall to the floor, all energy has left me. Seeing my mother again affected me more than I knew.
"Steff!" George rushed to my side and hugged my shaking body.
"Ssshhh I got you." He said while I cried in his arms.

That night the weather was abnormal. The winds blew and thunder reigned the sky. George was sound asleep but I could not get myself to relax. Only when I saw the full moon through the clouds, I felt at piece and went to sleep.

"Momma." Arie whispered me awake. He is usually the early bird in the house.
"Yes Arie?"
"There are strange people in the living room with the lady from yesterday."
That got my out of bed quickly and I rushed to the livingroom.
There was my mother, Zeus and Selene.
"What are you doing here?"
Demeter wanted to talk but Selene spoke first. "Rest assure child, we will do no harm. Please get your family ready for breakfast. We'll talk after that." She smiled and her calm voice kept me at ease.
"Thank you, I'll do that please make yourself comfortable."

I walked back to where George was soundly asleep.
"George, Honey, wake up." He yawned and opened his eyes.
"Morning Sweetheart." He mumbled.
"Don't freak out but we need to get the kids and us ready. My father, mother and Selene are here.
He was quickly to stand up, frazzled.
"Y...you mean thee Zeus is actually here?"
I gave a sheepish smile, "Yup so don't freak out."
He cupped my cheek and kissed my forehead. "Everything will be fine, you'll see." He tried to assure me but he himself was scared for the reason they are here.

We got our kids ready and soon everyone was in the living room. Selene was playing with the kids. All smiling and happy. Zeus only had eyes for Selene which I found strange
"You two have beautiful children Persephone." Selene said and the mother in me couldn't help but smile with pride.
"Thank you, they are our pride and joy."
"Now let's get down to business." Zeus said and all the kids yelled, "To defeat the Huns!" Selene, George and myself chuckled while Zeus and Demeter looked confused.
"Anywho, Demeter, you're up." Zeus said.
My mother cleared her voice.
"Uhm, Persephone, my daughter. You have made me seen that I haven't been the best mother to you and I..." She took a deep breath, "I can see now with George and your kids, how unhappy you truly were with me."
"Oh Mom..."
"And I was thinking that I could do something for you to make amends."
"Which is why we are here." Zeus said.
"I will not be able to make him immortal or a god but Selene made a suggestion that will help you two."
"I can link your souls."
"What does that mean?" George asked.
"It means that your lives will be linked, as long as Persephone is alive, so will you be. But should you die, so will she and if she dies, so will you. You will age very very slowly, it will seem like you are not ageing at all."
I gaped, "Wait that is possible?" I asked.
"Yes if certain conditions are met yes."
"And you're fine with this mother?"
Demeter grinds her teeth, she didn't want to admit that she begged Zeus to force her to come back, to even smite the boy. Zeus would not allow it and Selene was more so against it. So here they are.
"Yes."
She looked at George, "What do you think?"
He smiled at me with so much love,"If you'll have me forever."
"Alright let's do it."

George's soul linked with Persephone's that night under a red moon, together forevermore.
They had a total of 16 children, four for each season.
Persephone was the mother of the seasons and she lived happily ever after.
